E nós temos que manter a cultura e evidenciar a diversidade para a criançada”, explicou Anderson Cunha Sodré, mais conhecido como mestre Borracha, que também é coordenador do projeto “Voo da liberdade”, desenvolvido na Uesb desde 1997.
Nos três dias do evento, a comunidade itapetinguense, bem como capoeiristas da cidade e região, tiveram a oportunidade de conhecerem mais sobre esse esporte e suas particularidades, por meio da realização de atividades como palestras, oficinas e mesas-redondas. Além disso, os presentes puderam prestigiar a apresentação de um show folclórico com a exibição do maculelê, puxada de rede e samba de roda, realizado pelos integrantes do projeto. O evento também foi marcado pela troca de graduação dos capoeiristas.
Para o poeta itapetinguese, Valdeique Oliveira, o “Voo da liberdade é um movimento de resistência. E vê toda a mobilização da sociedade em torno dos movimentos sociais e culturais da cidade, reforçando, assim, a questão da capoeira e dos valores resgatados a partir da nossa identidade cultural, da questão da resistência, da capoeira, dos valores da identidade negra, é muito importante”, salientou.
Já para Gustavo Morais santos, que faz parte do grupo de capoeira há seis anos, participar do evento é motivo de satisfação. “É uma grande alegria estar aqui e poder aprender coisas novas”, destacou.
