O hábito de lavar as mãos com sabão ou higienizá-la com álcool em gel está mais presente entre as mulheres brasileiras

Estudo inédito do Ministério da Saúde apontou que as práticas de higiene recomendadas para a prevenção da Covid-19 são seguidas por 82,7% da população brasileira. Oito em cada dez pessoas afirmaram ter adotado o hábito de lavar as mãos regularmente com água e sabão ou higienizá-la com álcool em gel. Os brasileiros também estão seguindo as recomendações sobre a limpeza de superfícies e objetos de uso comum e coletivo. De acordo com o estudo, as mulheres adotaram mais os hábitos do que os homens, 87,3%. Já entre os homens o percentual chegou a 77,7%.
Os dados são da primeira edição da Pesquisa de Vigilância de Fatores de Risco e Proteção para Doenças crônicas por Inquérito Telefônico Covid-19 (Vigitel) do Ministério da Saúde. De acordo com a médica infectologista, Joana Darc Gonçalves da Silva, os hábitos de higiene são fundamentais para evitar a doença. No entanto, ela ressalta que é preciso ser feito de forma adequada.
“Lavar as mãos não é só molhar as mãos. É lavar adequadamente. Gastar aí 20 segundos para poder higienizar direitinho na palma, o dorso, no punho e entre os dedos ou usar o álcool em gel com a mesma técnica. E isso tem que ser sempre que você tocar uma superfície, varias vezes ao dia. Porque muita gente pega algumas doenças porque através das mãos toca em alguma superfície e passa a mão na boca, no nariz e no olho. E é aí que a gente se infecta”.
O estudo apontou ainda que 66,3% da população brasileira aderiram as práticas complementares de higiene, que vão desde o não compartilhamento de objetos de uso pessoal a trocar de roupas e sapatos ao chegar em casa. A infectologista, Joana da Silva, lembra ainda da importância do distanciamento social. Ela destaca que é importante lembrar que o vírus é transmitido por gotículas.
“A gente espelhe gotículas quando a gente fala, quando a gente tosse. Então, essas gotículas que a gente espelhe, mesmo que você não veja, elas atingem uma distância de até um metro e meio ou dois metros. Então, eu preciso manter uma distância segura das outras pessoas. Eu preciso proteger o próximo quando eu falo e eu preciso me proteger também para evitar de transmitir infecções para os outros”.
A primeira edição da Pesquisa de Vigilância de Fatores de Risco e Proteção para Doenças crônicas por Inquérito Telefônico Covid-19 (Vigitel), destacou ainda que 90,9% dos brasileiros entrevistados informaram ter aderido alguma ação de isolamento social indicada pelo gestor municipal. Entre as ações, sair de casa apenas o necessário, evitar aglomerações de pessoas ou lugares muito cheios e o contato próximo com outras pessoas, como cumprimentos ou abraços.
Durante a pesquisa foram entrevistadas 2 mil pessoas em todo o país com 18 anos ou mais.
