O levantamento foi realizado pela Pesquisa Nacional sobre o Bullying no Ambiente Educacional Brasileiro, promovida pela Aliança Nacional LGBTI+, uma organização da sociedade civil, pluripartidária e sem fins lucrativos, com apoio do Instituto Unibanco e do Plano CDE, uma empresa de pesquisa e consultoria especializada na avaliação de impacto nas famílias das classes CDE no Brasil. O resultado foi divulgado no último dia 16 de março, na sede do Conselho Nacional de Educação (CNE), em Brasília.
