O Brasil ultrapassou a marca de 25 gigawatts (GW) de potência de energia solar em fevereiro, divulgou a Associação Brasileira de Energia Solar Fotovoltaica (Absolar). O levantamento considera tanto as usinas solares de grande porte, como os sistemas de geração própria de energia em telhados, fachadas e pequenos terrenos.
De acordo com Absolar, a energia solar já equivale a 11,6% da matriz elétrica do país. O setor atravessa um crescimento exponencial. De fevereiro do ano passado para este mês, a potência ligada à energia solar saltou de 14,2 GW para 25 GW, com alta de 76%. Desde julho do ano passado, a potência de geração solar instalada no país tem crescido em média, 1 GW por mês.
Desde 2012, segundo a entidade, os investimentos em fonte solar de energia somaram R$ 125,3 bilhões e gerou cerca de R$ 39,4 bilhões em arrecadação aos cofres públicos. Em cerca de dez anos, o setor gerou 750,2 mil empregos acumulados e evitou a emissão de 33,4 milhões de toneladas de gás carbônico (CO2) na geração de eletricidade.
A produção de energia elétrica concentra-se nos pequenos usuários. Atualmente, 17,2 GW são produzidos no sistema de geração própria (em casa ou em terrenos próprios). As grandes usinas solares têm potência de 7,8 GW.
O mesmo ocorre com os investimentos e o emprego. Desde 2012, o segmento de geração própria gerou 517,2 mil empregos no Brasil e R$ 88,4 bilhões em investimentos. As usinas de grande porte criaram 233 mil empregos acumulados no país e foram responsáveis por R$ 36,9 bilhões em investimentos.
Perspectivas
Segundo a Absolar, as perspectivas para a energia solar no Brasil são favoráveis. O país pode usar um dos maiores recursos solares do planeta para produzir hidrogênio verde (hidrogênio produzido sem combustíveis fósseis). Esse cenário, no entanto, depende da ampliação dos investimentos.
