O total de casos de dengue no Brasil até a semana epidemiológica 45 (meados de novembro de 2023) é de 1.656.100, segundo dados do Ministério da Saúde. O número representa um aumento percentual de 21,4% em relação ao mesmo período do ano anterior, que registrou 1.363.493 casos.
Mato Grosso do Sul é a unidade da federação com o maior número de casos, 46 mil casos e 40 mortes. Minas Gerais é o segundo com maior número de casos registrados: 390 mil. Destes, dois mil foram considerados graves e com sinal de alertam com 188 óbitos. Santa Catarina e Distrito Federal seguem com os maiores quantitativos.
A principal recomendação das autoridades de saúde para prevenir a dengue é combater a proliferação do mosquito transmissor da doença, o Aedes aegypti, eliminando água parada, além de se proteger das picadas com repelentes e telas em portas e janelas. Os principais criadouros do mosquito são em pneus e recipientes de plástico, vasos, garrafas, calhas e lajes.
O infectologista do Sabin Diagnóstico e Saúde, Claudilson Bastos, destaca ainda os cuidados necessários no dia a dia:
“É crucial não apenas cuidar da nossa própria casa, mas também observar as casas vizinhas e a comunidade. Não adianta eu tomar precauções na minha residência se os materiais propícios para acúmulo de água estiverem presentes em outras casas, especialmente durante os períodos chuvosos”, alerta.
Os sintomas da dengue incluem febre repentina, dor de cabeça, dor nas articulações, dor muscular, erupção cutânea, dor nos olhos. Conforme destaca Marianna Tassara, infectologista do Instituto de Neurologia de Goiânia: devido à semelhança dos sintomas com outras arboviroses, como zika, chikungunya, e outras viroses como parvovirose, mononucleose, diagnosticar a dengue apenas pelos sintomas é “difícil”. Os exames laboratoriais de sangue, como o teste de sorologia para dengue, são utilizados para a confirmação.
Para Tassara, é importante que as medidas sejam adotadas previamente. “Uma das estratégias primordiais que as autoridades deveriam considerar é a implementação de uma vacina contra a dengue no Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS), incluindo-a no Programa Nacional de Imunização para garantir acesso universal à vacina contra a dengue. Afinal, a vacinação é a medida mais eficaz na prevenção contra essa doença”, afirma.
