Estudantes de Itororó desenvolvem sabonete sustentável à base de Capim-limão

O Capim-limão (Cymbopogon citratus), também conhecido como Capim-santo e bastante popular no Brasil, tornou-se matéria-prima para um Projeto inovador de duas estudantes do Centro Territorial de Educação Profissional Médio Sudoeste Eurides Evangelista Pinto, em Itororó. Thaís Oliveira e Sabrina Lopes decidiram transformar a planta em sabonete, unindo Ciência, Sustentabilidade e Empreendedorismo.
A iniciativa ganhou destaque no Encontro Estudantil da Rede Estadual de Educação, promovido pela Secretaria de Estado da Educação da Bahia, patrocinado pela Secretaria de Estado do Turismo da Bahia, realizado em Salvador, em dezembro de 2025, reunindo estudantes dos 27 Núcleos Territoriais de Educação.
O Projeto das estudantes itororoenses foi um dos 500 aprovados na 13ª Feira de Ciências, Empreendedorismo Social e Inovação da Bahia (Feciba), que fez parte da programação oficial do Encontro Estudantil da Rede Estadual de Educação, chamando atenção pela proposta de reduzir impactos ambientais. A professora orientadora, Laise Estefanes, explica que o objetivo era criar um produto sustentável, diferente dos sabonetes convencionais disponíveis no mercado.
“Nosso produto tem como diferencial o uso de Capim-limão cultivado na horta da própria Escola, garantindo uma matéria-prima natural e de fácil acesso. Priorizamos a sustentabilidade, com recursos disponíveis no ambiente escolar, incentivando o aproveitamento consciente e a Educação Ambiental”, destacou a docente.
Além do caráter ecológico, o Projeto também reforça a importância da Educação Científica Aplicada. Para a professora, iniciativas como essa aproximam os alunos da pesquisa prática, permitindo que compreendam conceitos de Química, Biologia e controle de qualidade de forma concreta.
As estudantes já planejam os próximos passos: aprimorar a formulação do sabonete e ampliar o foco em sustentabilidade. “Pretendemos seguir a pesquisa para encontrar mais matérias-primas sustentáveis, buscando ingredientes que tenham menor impacto ambiental e que possam ser obtidos de forma consciente”, afirmaram Thaís e Sabrina.
O Projeto mostra como a combinação entre ciência, criatividade e consciência ambiental pode abrir caminhos para novas soluções e oportunidades de futuro para jovens da região.
