Nesta quarta-feira (02), a nota de R$200 vai começar a circular pelo Brasil, segundo informou o Banco Central. A nota, que terá a imagem do lobo-guará, permanece em sigilo. Desta forma, o desenho, a cor e as informações de segurança só serão revelados na quarta-feira, quando a cédula entrará em circulação. O Banco Central encomendou à Casa da Moeda a produção de 450 milhões de cédulas do novo valor até dezembro deste ano.
Essa será a sétima cédula da família de notas do Real e é a primeira nota com um novo valor em 18 anos. Antes dela, a última cédula tinha sido lançada em 2002 – nota a de R$ 20, com a figura de um mico-leão-dourado. Os lançamentos de cédulas novas têm em comum o objetivo de reduzir as transações feitas com dinheiro vivo, economizando com impressão de papel moeda. Outro motivo apontado pelo Governo Federal é a necessidade de fazer frente ao pagamento do auxílio emergencial – estimado em mais de R$ 160 bilhões considerando as cinco parcelas aprovadas.
