O Governo do Estado, através da Secretaria de Estado de Segurança Pública, entre outras iniciativas no âmbito do Projeto de Reestruturação da Polícia Militar, cujo objetivo é potencializar o emprego da tropa e o tempo de resposta das ações desenvolvidas para a população, além de reforçar e modernizar a estrutura organizacional da Segurança Pública, criou o 24º Batalhão da Polícia Militarem Brumado e designou para comandar a Unidade o Tenente Coronel PM Élson Cristóvão Santos Pereira.

Soteropolitano, 55 anos, Bacharel em Direito, o Tenente-Coronel PM Élson Cristóvão Santos Pereira já esteve lotado nos quadros do 17º Batalhão da Polícia Militar de Guanambi, no Comando de Operações de Inteligência e foi um dos responsáveis pela criação da Rondas Especiais (Rondesp). Adepto do Policiamento Comunitário, que tem como princípio a parceria entre a Polícia Militar e a comunidade para dar efetividade nas ações – identificação, priorização de atuação – de combate à criminalidade e garantia da Segurança Pública. O Tenente-Coronel PM Élson Cristóvão Santos Pereira não só sinalizou como já tem realizado um trabalho voltado parta esse fim, buscando dialogar com setores organizados da sociedade e estabelecendo um canal de comunicação para que haja não apenas eficiência, mas cooperação no trabalho desenvolvido nas ruas pela Polícia Militar, além de promover O Policiamento Ostensivo e Blitzes, que considera fundamentais para coibir a ação de criminosos, o tráfego de veículos irregulares e os roubos e furtos.

Na última semana, o Tenente-Coronel Elson Cristóvão Santos Pereira abriu espaço em sua agenda de trabalho e concedeu uma entrevista exclusiva ao JS, oportunidade em que falou sobre a organização administrativa e operacional da nova estrutura da Polícia Militar da Bahia no município, destacando o trabalho que vinha sendo desenvolvido no Comando da então 34ª Companhia Independente de Polícia Militar pela atual Subcomandante do Batalhão, Major PM Leila Souza Gonçalves Silva e pelo efetivo lotado na Unidade. O Comandante do 24ª Batalhão da Polícia Militar também pontuou a defesa intransigente da legalidade na atuação da Força Policial e o propósito de centralizar o atendimento de emergência e de avançar na parceria com a Polícia Civil, reforçando seu entendimento da importância dos Sistemas de Inteligência para planejamento e execução de ações e apontou que a prioridade de sua gestão à frente do 24ª Batalhão da Polícia Militar de Brumado será investir principalmente em treinamento e engajamento dos Policiais Militares da Unidade e no fortalecimento do relacionamento com a comunidade, com ênfase na comunidade escolar.

Questionado, o Tenente Coronel Elson Cristóvão Santos Pereira não se negou a comentar assuntos Administrativos que tem sido tratado com os polêmicos, entre os quais o uso de câmeras corporais pelos Policiais Militares, a politização das tropas e as questões da Saúde Mental na Corporação.

TEN-CEL PM ELSÓN PEREIRA: Sou filho de uma família de longa história de ativismo social e político, lá em Salvador, e, devido a isso, possuo uma sensibilidade muito aguçada para questões sociais. Isso me faz olhar a sociedade em que vivemos de maneira bem ímpar, bem singular. Sou um Oficial idealista, que pensa que o aparelho policial, principalmente a Polícia Militar, não pode se afastar do seu mister, que é cuidar do cotidiano das pessoas, e é claro, em momentos singulares, a gente sabe que o aparelho policial faz a repressão. Mas quando isso acontecer, que seja de maneira qualificada, planejada, com suporte de inteligência e com instrumentos jurídicos, como o Mandado de Segurança e o Mandado de Busca e Apreensão. Eu acredito que se nós nos afastarmos do nosso principal objetivo, vamos perder a nossa identidade. Vamos perder nossa cultura profissional de promover segurança no dia a dia das pessoas, pois garantir o cotidiano das pessoas e fazer com que as mesmas tenham segurança, seja para ir à Escola ou acessar serviços públicos, como Assistência Social e Saúde, é o nosso foco. Uma tendência meramente repressiva faz com que nós nos afastemos do nosso mister, que é garantir o cotidiano social.

  2376. Today, I went to the beach with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave
    it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put
    the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
    She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is completely off topic but I had to tell someone!
