Devoção, fé e muita emoção marcam as celebrações da Semana Santa em Minas Gerais

Conhecida nacional e internacionalmente, a Semana Santa em Minas Gerais é vivida essencialmente nas cidades históricas mineiras, com celebrações e manifestações seculares, que datam com até trezentos anos de tradição.
Em Minas, a Semana Santa é o melhor ferido no Estado, superando o Carnaval, contando neste ano com a promoção do programa Minas Santa, do governo do Estado, por meio da Secretaria de Estado de Cultura e Turismo, que chega à sua terceira edição.
Em Ouro Preto, grande parte das pousadas recebem suas reservas com até cinco anos de antecedência, quando turistas do mundo inteiro vêm conhecer uma das mais belas celebrações religiosas de Minas e do Brasil.
E Ouro Preto vive intensamente os rituais da Semana Santa. As cerimônias preservaram a liturgia do Ciclo do Ouro, e as igrejas barrocas resplandecem no fervor das celebrações. Como se repete há três séculos, este ano a presidência dos eventos cabe à Paróquia da Conceição de Antônio Dias – alternância na organização das celebrações dividida entre a Paróquia de Nossa Senhora da Conceição, nos anos ímpares, e a Paróquia Nossa Senhora do Pilar, nos anos pares, lembrando a separação entre paulistas e portugueses nos primórdios da antiga Vila Rica. O Lava-Pés e o Descendimento da Cruz acontecem diante da Igreja de São Francisco de Assis, obra prima do Aleijadinho. As procissões do Fogaréu, na Quarta-Feira de Trevas, do Enterro, na Sexta-Feira da Paixão, e a da Ressurreição, no Domingo de Páscoa, são as mais concorridas e emocionantes. Em Mariana, a Semana Santa resgata neste ano a Procissão do Fogaréu e reforça seu papel como destino turístico religioso.Os eventos unem tradição, espiritualidade e patrimônio cultural. Desde os tempos coloniais, a religiosidade moldou a identidade da cidade, consolidada há quase três séculos, com a criação de seu Seminário. Hoje, essa tradição se mantém viva e atrai fiéis e visitantes de todo o país e do mundo. A programação, organizada pela Ação Social da Catedral Basílica de Nossa Senhora da Assunção, em parceria com as três paróquias do município, contempla celebrações marcantes, como o Ofício de Trevas, o Descendimento da Cruz, a Procissão Luminosa da Paixão e a Procissão da Ressurreição. Além do profundo simbolismo religioso, essas manifestações revelam a riqueza artística e musical da cidade, proporcionando uma experiência única para moradores e turistas.
Marcando os 280 anos da Arquidiocese de Mariana e o Jubileu da Esperança, entre as novidades deste ano destaca-se o resgate da Procissão do Fogaréu, uma tradição secular que simboliza a busca e prisão de Cristo. Ao lado de Mariana, em Diogo de Vasconcelos, a Semana Santa é promovida pela Paróquia São Domingos de Gusmão. A participação e presença de toda comunidade é um dos destaques da cidade, quando a Via Sacra é encenada por jovens, ganhando vida na Praça do Coreto, no centro histórico de Diogo de Vasconcelos. Em Piranga, a paróquia mais antiga da Arquidiocese de Mariana, que é a arquidiocese mais antiga do Estado de Minas Gerais, a Paróquia Nossa Senhora da Conceição preservou ao longo dos séculos a riqueza da vivência religiosa da Semana Santa, mantendo as tradições que datam com mais de 330 anos. Os Sermões, paraliturgias, procissões, cantos históricos, teatros, ornamentações, celebrações, devoções ao Senhor dos Passos e Nossa Senhora das Dores, podem ser vivenciadas com toda originalidade histórica no município, tendo seus prédios históricos como palco e cenários. Nos arredores de Belo Horizonte
Em Sabará, a 30km de Belo Horizonte, a Semana Santa é uma das que mais preservaram as manifestações originárias de Portugal. Na Igreja são Francisco, a abertura do Sepulcro na Quinta-feira Santa tem na Cerimônia do Santo Sepulcro, um ritual que remonta ao século XIX e é considerado único no país, pois retrata a morte de Jesus na quinta-feira – na véspera, portanto, da Sexta-feira da Paixão, quando os católicos relembram a crucificação e acompanham a Procissão do Enterro. Na Igreja Senhor Bom Jesus, outro acontecimento, com a Procissão realizada na madruga, às 4h da manhã, da Sexta-Feira da Paixão, quando é realizada a Via Sacra da Penitência, onde centenas de fiéis pagam promessas subindo as ladeiras íngremes do Morro da Cruz. Ao lado de Sabará, a Semana Santa em Santa Luzia está ligada à formação do município, cujo povoamento se deu no século XVIII. As celebrações da Semana Santa tornaram-se um dos aspectos mais significativos da vida social e da identidade cultural da cidade, que ocorrem nas ruas Direita, do Serro e Floriano Peixoto. Dentre as atividades realizadas durante as celebrações, destacam-se a confecção dos tapetes devocionais de serragem. As ruas são tomadas por tapetes coloridos, símbolos da Ressurreição de Cristo, quando os moradores do Centro Histórico enfeitam suas janelas com toalhas bordadas. Em Raposos, onde se encontra a primeira Matriz de Minas Gerais, as celebrações terão início no Domingo de Ramos. É muito forte a participação da população de Raposos, tomando as ruas do centro histórico com a procissão da Sexta-Feira Santa passando por todo centro da cidade, aos sons das matracas, em um reunião de milhares de devotos, turistas e fiéis. Em Caeté a Semana Santa é marcada por profunda tradição religiosa e cultural, vivida em todo o município. O centro histórico da cidade é ocupado por procissões e encenações da Paixão de Cristo. Em Itabira, cidade da poesia, a Semana Santa inicia-se tradicionalmente com Via Sacra dos Gravetos e celebra, em seguida, o Setenário, sete noites meditando as dores da Santíssima Virgem, precedendo a Semana Santa. Em Santa Bárbara, o grupo Âncora Companhia de Teatro promove anualmente a tradicional encenação dOs Passos da Agonia,reconhecida como patrimônio imaterial do município. Neste ano, a Âncora Companhia de Teatro celebra 50 anos de história e dedicação às artes cênicas no município. O espetáculo emociona o público ao retratar com profundidade e realismo os últimos momentos da vida de Jesus. O evento se tornou um dos mais importantes no calendário cultural e religioso de Santa Bárbara, atraindo moradores e turistas.
Com grande público, a encenação acontecerá no dia 18 de abril (Sexta-feira da Paixão), a partir das 19h, no Ginásio Emília Mendes da Fonseca, no centro histórico. Logo após à encenação, se realiza a tradicional Procissão do Corpo de Cristo, com destino à Igreja Matriz de Santo Antônio.

Na cinematográfica cidade de Catas Altas a Semana Santa ocupa todo o Centro Histórico, com encenações utilizando o conjunto arquitetônico como cenário. Na imponente Matriz de Nossa Senhora da Conceição as passagens bíblicas ganham novas interpretações com a Serra do Caraça ao fundo. As procissões são programadas para serpentear as ladeiras históricas, com seu belo calçamento em “pé de moleque”, passando em frente de Capelas e igrejas centenárias. Próximo a Catas Altas, a cidade de Bom Jesus do Amparo apresenta uma programação intensa na Semana Santa, que terá seu ápice no final da Semana da Páscoa. A secular Igreja Matriz do Senhor Bom Jesus do Amparo, construída em 1843, será o palco para as encenações litúrgicas. Este ano terá como marco o retorno da Encenação da Paixão de Cristo. De 13 a 19 de abril, a Semana Santa de Diamantina une a fé e a tradição aos seu patrimônio vivo. Com procissões, ritos, cantos seculares e manifestações simbólicas, a Semana Santa em Diamantina mantém viva uma herança transmitida ao longo dos séculos, renovada a cada ano pela devoção de seus participantes. Entre os destaques, está a Guarda Romana, formada por mais de 80 homens que, anualmente, assumem a missão de conduzir a Procissão do Enterro e participar da Via Sacra. Outro elemento marcante é o repique dos sinos, registrado como Patrimônio Imaterial Nacional pelo IPHAN. Já os motetos, compostos por José Emerico Lobo de Mesquita, são cantados em latim. A Semana Santa em Couto de Magalhães de Minas, já no Vale do Jequitinhonha e ao lado de Diamantina, é um chamado para a vivenciar espiritualmente e culturalmente os últimos passos de Jesus. As encenações e rituais tradicionais da cidade atraem turistas de vários cantos de Minas. Lá os turistas também são atores nas celebrações e rituais, como na Procissão de Ramos, Procissões do Encontro, além do tradicional teatro da encenação no Sábado Santo e o Domingo de Páscoa, com a tradicional Queima do Judas, com brincadeiras para crianças e adultos. Neste ano especialmente, a cidade comemorará entre os festejos da Semana Santa, seus 62 anos de emancipação política de Diamantina, com vasta programação cultural. É a Fé e Tradição que move a Semana Santa em Serro, dentro de um cenário tricentenário. Na secular Serro, a Semana Santa é revivida em meio a um lindo cenário barroco, onde casarios históricos são testemunhas dos mais de 300 anos de devoção dos fiéis serranos. Por oito dias, fiéis acompanham procissões, vigílias e rituais – do Lava-Pés à Ressurreição. Desde 1985 o Grupo Marte, composto de jovens, adultos e idosos, encena diversas passagens da estadia de Jesus em Jerusalém, encerrando com a Paixão de Cristo no adro da Igreja do Carmo e na Praça João Pinheiro, transformando o centro histórico em palco sagrado. No domingo, a Queima do Judas acontece tanto na Sede, quanto no Distrito de São Gonçalo do Rio das Pedras.
Na Capital Estadual do Ecoturismo, a 50km de Serro, em Conceição do Mato Dentro, a cidade se prepara para viver um dos momentos mais importantes do calendário cristão, tão marcado pelo Jubileu do Bom Jesus de Matosinhos, um dos maiores do Brasil. Na cidade dos profetas, Congonhas, a Semana Santa tem como tema deste ano, Cultura e Tradição na Capital Mineira da Fé. De 13 a 20 de abril, Congonhas celebra a Semana Santa unindo fé, arte e tradição. No cenário histórico entre a Matriz de Nossa Senhora da Conceição e o Santuário do Bom Jesus de Matozinhos, que completa 40 anos de seu tombamento como Patrimônio Cultural da Humanidade pela Unesco, dezenas de atores encenam os últimos dias de Cristo, da entrada em Jerusalém à Ressurreição. Sermões e procissões percorrem o eixo histórico da cidade, conectando as Igrejas de Nossa Senhora do Rosário, à Matriz de Nossa Senhora da Conceição, Matriz de São José Operário e a Basílica do Bom Jesus de Matozinhos, representando a Sagrada Família. A Semana Santa em Tiradentes convida fiéis e turistas a vivenciarem um período repleto de fé, tradição e introspecção. O primeiro registro das festividades é de 1736, sempre preservando momentos de profunda reflexão e emoção, vividos entre os dias 13 e 20 de abril.
As solenidades têm início nas quatro primeiras sextas-feiras da Quaresma, com as Vias Sacras que percorrem os Passos da Paixão, as pequenas capelas espalhadas pelo Centro Histórico da cidade, construídas entre os anos de 1745 e 1807.

Na mística São Thomé das Letras, no Sul de Minas, a cerimônia é secular e seus primeiros registros são do início do século XIX. As cerimônias tradicionalmente têm início no Domingo de Ramos, 13 de abril, com a Procissão de Ramos, finalizando no dia 20 de abril, com as celebrações do Domingo da Páscoa. Os ritos de São Thomé se destacam pela riqueza cultural dos cantos, motetos e beleza das imagens, como a veneranda imagem de Nosso Senhor dos Passos, vinda de Portugal, doada pelo lendário Barão de Alfenas, em meados do séculos XIX, por volta do ano de 1850. Ponto de destaque da cidade e atrativo turístico são os Passos da Paixão, construídos em pedra São Tomé, nos primeiros anos do século XIX. Ao lado de São Thomé das Letras, na terra da Beata Nhá Chica, com seu forte turismo religioso, a Semana Santa é marcada pelos cantos dos belíssimos e históricos motetos, além de uma das mais belas encenações de Minas Gerais e do Brasil, o Quadro Vivo da Semana Santa de Baependi. Realizado há mais de 50 anos, o Quadro Vivo é um teatro itinerante, feito a céu aberto, que tem o acompanhamento da Corporação Musical Carlos Gomes. Ele é uma verdadeira peça de teatro encenada em dois palcos, iniciando na igreja do Rosário e terminando na praça da Boa Morte. A Semana Santa de Itapecerica preserva sua tradição secular, com ritos únicos e emocionantes.

Itapecerica é uma cidade com forte tradição musical e a música sacra faz parte da história do município. Nas manifestações culturais e religiosas, as bandas estão sempre presentes. Desde meados do século XVIII e princípio do século XIX, a Semana Santa é realizada em Itapecerica com a mesma estrutura e possui características muito peculiares, o que se verifica na ordem e no estilo das procissões, nas músicas sacras, nos toques dos sinos e nos ritos em geral. A Semana Santa em Pitangui é marcada por celebrações tradicionais, que refletem a rica herança cultural, religiosa e musical da cidade. Dois eventos de destaque são o Setenário das Dores de Maria e as apresentações da Banda de Música José Viriato Bahia Mascarenhas.
Com origens no século XVIII, o Setenário das Dores de Maria é uma celebração singular na cidade, realizada na secular Capela de São Francisco. Durante sete dias os fiéis meditam sobre as sete dores que atravessaram o coração de Nossa Senhora. A cerimônia inicia com a capela em penumbra ao som da Marcha Fúnebre, composta pelo maestro pitanguiense Quito Nunes. Ao longo do rito, anjos entram portando espadas, simbolizando as dores de Maria, culminando na bênção do Santíssimo com a capela iluminada. A celebração encerra com a execução da Marcha Fúnebre pela banda de música José Viriato Bahia Mascarenhas – com quase 200 anos de participação nas celebrações da Semana Santa em Pitangui – enquanto os fiéis saem em silêncio. No Norte de Minas
No Extreme Norte de Minas, entre as cavernas do Peruaçu e as praias do Rio São Francisco, no município de Januária, o distrito histórico de Brejo do Amparo prepara uma Semana Santa cênica, junto passando pelo Domingo de Ramos, com a benção dos Ramos na entrada da comunidade e a meditação das Dores de Nossa Senhora na Matriz. Na segunda-feira, a curiosa Encomendação das Almas que toma conta das ruas do distrito, à meia noite. Na terça-feira Santa, a Via Sacra Luminosa percorre os 14 passos costumeiros. Na quarta-feira, a Procissão do Encontro e o esperado Sermão do Encontro, que na Matriz de Nossa Senhora do Amparo, a Santa Ceia do Senhor é celebrada durante a missa de quinta-feira na Matriz. A encenação da Paixão de Cristo acontece na praça da Matriz.
Zona da Mata mineira
Na Zona da Mata, a modernista cidade de Cataguases tem em suas encenações uma tradição que atrai fieis e turistas. Com uma rica programação religiosa, iniciando no Domingo de Ramos, a agenda inclui missas, procissões e a encenação da Via-Sacra, culminando na celebração da Páscoa, com a encenação da ressurreição de Cristo. As festividades têm uma programação de destaque na Paróquia Nossa Senhora do Rosário e no Santuário Santa Rita, proporcionando uma experiência única de fé e cultura.
