O Deputado Federal Félix de Almeida Mendonça Júnior (PDT/BA), em Nota distribuída à imprensa, expressou surpresa ao descobrir que é um dos alvos da 4ª fase da Operação Overclean, deflagrada a sexta-feira (27) pela Polícia Federal, Controladoria Geral da União e Receita Federal do Brasil . A operação investiga possíveis irregularidades nos repasses de Emendas Parlamentares destinadas a municípios na Bahia. Durante a execução dos Mandados de Busca e Apreensão expedidos pelo ministro Kaio Nunes Marques, do Supremo Tribunal Federal, dois prefeitos (Alan Machado França, do PSb, e Humberto Raimundo – Beto – Rodrigues de Oliveira, do PT) foram afastados de suas funções. Os dois prefeitos afastados chegaram a ser presos em flagrante por porte ilegal de armas, mas tiveram a prisão relaxada com pagamento de fiança.
Na Nota, O pedetista Félix Mendonça Júnior refutou qualquer envolvimento ilícito, tanto por parte dele quanto de seus colaboradores. O Deputado destacou que as Emendas para custeio e investimentos são solicitadas por prefeitos ou lideranças e espera que os recursos sejam utilizados de maneira legal, com objetivos estritamente políticos.
Na mesma mensagem, o parlamentar reafirmou que sempre atuou com ética, correção e seriedade na vida pública, e está colaborando com as investigações para que todos os fatos sejam esclarecidos o mais rápido possível.
