Na noite da última terça-feira (20), a Praça Tancredo Neves, em Vitória da Conquista, foi palco da 13ª edição da Alvorada dos Ojás, iniciativa promovida pela Rede Beneficente, Cultural, Educacional e Religiosa Caminhos dos Búzios, organização religiosa comprometida com a promoção da igualdade racial e o enfrentamento da intolerância religiosa no município. O evento, que contou com apoio da Prefeitura Municipal, através da Secretaria Municipal de Desenvolvimento Social, por meio da Coordenadoria de Igualdade Racial, reuniu lideranças religiosas, representantes da sociedade civil e autoridades em um ato simbólico de união, respeito e combate à intolerância religiosa.
A cerimônia teve início com o Xirê dos Orixás, ritual das religiões afro-brasileiras que reverencia os ancestrais por meio de cânticos e toques, chamando as divindades do povo do Axé. Em seguida, foram distribuídos os Ojás– laços brancos amarrados nas árvores da Praça – como símbolo de paz, respeito e enfrentamento ao racismo religioso.
O Coordenador de Igualdade Racial da Secretaria Municipal de Desenvolvimento Social, Ricardo Alves de Oliveira, destacou a relevância da ação, apontando que a Alvorada dos Ojás é um convite `reflexão sobre a convivência pacífica e o direito constitucional à liberdade de culto, feito pelas religiões afro-brasileiras à sociedade. Para o Coordenador, diante do cenário de intensos ataques às religiões de matriz africana no Brasil, a iniciativa representa um apelo coletivo por paz, tolerância e respeito, reafirmando o direito de todos à livre manifestação de fé e à convivência harmônica entre diferentes crenças.
Na 13ª edição da Alvorada dos Ojás, a fala da Advogada, Mestre em Sociologia e Iyalorixa Thalia Assis se destacou entre os momentos mais marcantes da cerimônia. Representando a Assessoria Jurídica da Rede Beneficente, Cultural, Educacional e Religiosa Caminhos dos Búzios, ela enfatizou a necessidade urgente de reconhecer e nomear com precisão as formas de violência sofridas pelas comunidades de terreiro, incluindo o racismo religioso.“Existe uma diferença entre intolerância religiosa e racismo religioso. As religiões de matriz africana sofrem sobretudo o racismo, por sua origem africana”, enfatizou.
Um dos mais respeitados líderes religiosos de Vitória da Conquista, pelo compromisso com a convivência pacifica e harmoniosa entre as diversas crenças no município, o Babalorixá Leandro Alex dos Santos (Léo Ty Odé Ibu), destacou o simbolismo da cerimônia e a relação intrínseca dos povos de Axé com a natureza. Segundo ele, o ato de amarrar o Ojá nas árvores representa um pedido de paz e saúde aos ancestrais, além de simbolizar um gesto de reverência. “É como um abraço, porque a árvore é sagrada e nos dá vida”, afirmou.
Dia Nacional de Combate a Intolerância Religiosa
A Alvorada dos Ojás, realizada em Vitória da Conquista, acontece sempre na véspera do Dia Nacional de Combate à Intolerância Religiosa, instituído em 2008 em memória da Iyalorixa Mãe Gilda (Gildásia dos Santos e Santos), que se tornou símbolo nacional da luta contra a intolerância religiosa no Brasil. Fundadora do Terreiro Ilê Asé Abassá, no Bairro de Itapoã, em Salvador, a Iyalorixa Mãe Gilda dedicou sua vida à preservação das religiões de matriz africana e à defesa do direito à liberdade de crença. Vítima, junto com a família e o Terreiro de ataques, perseguições e atos de vandalismo motivados pelo preconceito contra as religiões de matriz africana, Mãe Gilda faleceu em 21 de janeiro de 2000, após sofrer um infarto, que foi associado ao contexto de intolerância e violência vivenciado por ela.
Em reconhecimento a sua história e à gravidade da violência religiosa no país, o Dia Nacional de Combate à Intolerância Religiosa foi instituído em 21 de janeiro, por meio da Lei 11.635/2007, sancionada sete anos após sua morte. A data passou a integrar o Calendário Cívico da União como símbolo da luta pela diversidade religiosa e pelo respeito às diferentes crenças.
