Decisão segue padrões da União Europeia e dá 90 dias para retirada dos produtos do mercado. Estudos internacionais apontam risco de câncer e problemas reprodutivos; medida entra em vigor imediatamente.
Duas substâncias químicas que estavam presentes em alguns produtos usados para fazer unhas em gel foram proibidas pela Agência Nacional de Vigilância Sanitária (Anvisa). A medida teve como objetivo proteger a saúde da população contra riscos de câncer e problemas reprodutivos.
As substâncias banidas são o TPO, usado para endurecer esmaltes com luz ultravioleta, e o DMPT. Estudos internacionais mostraram que o DMPT pode causar câncer e que o TPO é tóxico para a reprodução, podendo afetar a fertilidade.
Com essa decisão, o Brasil se alinha às regras de segurança da União Europeia, que também proibiu o uso desses ingredientes. A restrição vale para todos os cosméticos, e a fabricação e importação desses produtos estão proibidas imediatamente.
As empresas terão 90 dias para parar de vender os itens que ainda estão no mercado. Depois desse prazo, todos os registros desses produtos serão cancelados, e as empresas deverão recolher o que restar nas lojas.
A Anvisa reforça que, embora o risco maior esteja entre profissionais que lidam com esses produtos com frequência, usuárias e usuários também estão expostos aos efeitos nocivos das substâncias. A decisão é uma medida preventiva para evitar danos à saúde e reforça o papel da Agência em proteger a população.
