A Bahia se prepara para um avanço significativo na safra de grãos e fibras, especialmente de soja e algodão, mesmo diante de desafios climáticos que exigem constante adaptação por parte dos produtores. De acordo com 5º Levantamento da Safra 2024/2025, da Companhia Nacional de Abastecimento (Conab), o estado projeta um crescimento de 6,3% na produção de grãos, impulsionado pelas chuvas mais frequentes e intensas registradas nos últimos meses de 2024. Entre as culturas, destaca-se o crescimento de 12,8% da safra de soja, enquanto o algodão deve registrar um avanço de 9,9%. Por outro lado, a expectativa é de uma pequena retração na produção de milho, com quedas de 10,1%.
“O aumento projetado na produção de soja reflete a resiliência do setor agrícola baiano, que busca se adaptar a variações climáticas e otimizar sua produtividade. afirma Manoel Álvares, gerente de inteligência da ORÍGEO, joint-venture entre a Bunge e a UPL, especializada em soluções sustentáveis e técnicas de gestão para o setor agrícola.
Igor Borges, head de sustentabilidade da ORÍGEO ressalta que, nesse cenário de crescimento aliado a desafios, a ORÍGEO tem se dedicado a promover a agricultura regenerativa como um caminho estratégico para aumentar a produtividade de forma sustentável. “A agricultura regenerativa não apenas melhora o rendimento das lavouras no curto prazo, mas também fortalece o sistema produtivo a longo prazo. Ao adotar práticas que restauram a saúde do solo – tais como rotação e diversificação de culturas, biológicos e biossoluções, plantio direto e uso de cobertura vegetal –,os produtores enfrentam melhor os impactos das mudanças climáticas e garantem maior estabilidade e rentabilidade no futuro.”
A expectativa é que os produtores baianos ajustem suas estratégias, adotando cada vez mais sistemas agrícolas que podem auxiliar na obtenção de maior eficiência e sustentabilidade, como a agricultura regenerativa. “A intensidade das chuvas, que variam a cada ciclo, exige que os produtores se ajustem constantemente, implementando novas técnicas e soluções para tornar suas lavouras mais resilientes. Ao restaurar a saúde do solo, a agricultura regenerativa surge como mais um recurso para os produtores superarem os eventuais desafios climáticos”, conclui Borges.
