Na última sexta-feira (20), a Câmara Municipal de Vereadores de Belo Campo foi palco da 1ª Conferência Municipal dos Direitos da Pessoa Idosa, um evento destinado a fomentar o diálogo e escuta na busca por melhorias na qualidade de vida da população idosa. A iniciativa foi organizada pela Prefeitura Municipal, através da Secretaria Municipal de Assistência Social, em parceria com o Conselho Municipal da Pessoa Idosa, abordando o tema: “Envelhecimento Multicultural e Democracia: Urgência por Equidade, Direitos e Participação”.
A programação incluiu acolhimento, credenciamento, a formação da mesa de honra, um momento cívico, uma palestra magna, debates, atividades em grupo, a leitura e aprovação do Regimento Interno, além da escolha dos delegados que representarão o município na etapa estadual do evento.
Em sua intervenção, a Secretária Executiva do Conselho Municipal dos Direitos da Pessoa Idosa, Quezia Rocha Dias Ruas, destacou a importância da Conferência que, salientou, desempenha um papel fundamental na promoção e defesa dos direitos dessa parcela da população que, muitas vezes, enfrenta vulnerabilidades especificas.
A Secretária-Executiva do Conselho Municipal dos Direitos da Pessoa Idosa destacou ainda que a partir dos debates e propostas apresentadas será possível elaborar, reformular e aprimorar políticas públicas voltadas para o atendimento das necessidades da população idosa, apontando que as decisões tomadas na Conferência vão ser levadas em conta pelo Governo Municipal e incentivar a alocação, pelos Governos Federal e do Estado, de recursos em favor de ações efetivas visando o bem estar e a melhoria da qualidade de vida dos idosos belo campenses.
Elisângela Ruas Oliveira, secretária municipal de Assistência Social, corroborando com o entendimento da representante do Conselho Municipal de Defesa dos Direitos da Pessoa Idosa, a enfatizou a importância da Conferência como um espaço fundamental para a discussão e promoção de políticas públicas voltadas ao bem-estar e à dignidade dos idosos belo-campenses.
A secretária lembrou que a promoção da autonomia, o combate ao preconceito e à violência contra a pessoa idosa, além da importância da inclusão social e do acesso a serviços de Saúde e Assistência Social exigem a participação da comunidade, que desempenha um papel essencial para que as demandas e necessidades dos idosos sejam ouvidas e consideradas na formulação e implementação de políticas públicas.
Elizângela Ruas Oliveira, salientou que a realização da Conferência representa um marco significativo para Belo Campo, permitindo a oportunidade para fortalecer as redes de apoio e incentivando a participação dos idosos em diversas atividades sociais e culturais.
Ela ainda enfatizou que as propostas elaboradas durante a Pré-conferência e a Plenária Municipal serão levadas à Conferência Estadual e, posteriormente, à Conferência Nacional. “Assim, Estado e União poderão entender as especificidades locais e direcionar investimentos de acordo com as demandas apresentadas”, concluiu.
O evento contou também com a participação, entre outros, de Lúcia Maria Mascarenhas, Conselheira do Conselho Estadual da Pessoa Idosa, órgão vinculado à Secretaria de Estado da Justiça, Direitos Humanos e Desenvolvimento Social da Bahia, e integrante da Comissão de Articulação da Pessoa Idosa da Assembleia Legislativa da Bahia, além de Roqueline Santos, Conselheira e Coordenadora das Instituições não Asilares do Conselho Estadual da Pessoa Idosa.
