Chegaram hoje (17), pelo Riogaleão – Aeroporto Internacional Tom Jobim, na zona norte do Rio de Janeiro, os primeiros turistas dos Estados Unidos beneficiados com a isenção de visto para visitar o Brasil. A medida, prevista no Decreto Presidencial nº 9.731, entrou em vigor nesta segunda-feira e vale também para turistas da Austrália, do Canadá e do Japão.
De acordo com o ministro do Turismo, Marcelo Álvaro Antônio, a expectativa do governo é que essa facilidade aumente o fluxo de turistas desses países e gere pelo menos R$ 1 bilhão para a economia brasileira todos os anos. O ministro considerou o dia de hoje “histórico para o turismo no Brasil”.
Marcelo Álvaro Antônio lembrou que a isenção de vistos era uma iniciativa pleiteada pelo setor de turismo há mais de 15 anos.”Segundo o ministro, parte do grupo de americanos que chegaram hoje veio sem o visto, e há depoimentos de que só vieram pela isenção do visto. “Quem ganha é a economia do Brasil, a nossa população, porque certamente essa iniciativa, a médio prazo, com os investimentos necessários para a promoção disso, vai gerar emprego, vai gerar renda e divisas para o nosso país.”
Entre os turistas que chegaram nesta segunda-feira com o benefício da isenção de visto estão Bryan e Aline Smith, pai e filha, que pretendem assistir aos jogos da Copa América. “Achei muito boa a facilidade e espero que os Estados Unidos simplifiquem também e implementem a isenção de visto para lá. Espero voltar mais vezes, dependendo de como será esta estadia”, disse Bryan.
Pela primeira vez no Brasil, Aline disse que estava ansiosa para ver as belezas da cidade. “Espero ver muitas coisas, quero ver as coisas novas e excitantes ao redor da cidade, as praias e os jogos da Copa América”. Bryan e Aline vão passar uma semana no Brasil.
O Ministério do Turismo informou que, no ano passado, os brasileiros gastaram US$ 18,2 bilhões no exterior, enquanto os estrangeiros deixaram US$ 5,9 bilhões no Brasil, o que gerou déficit no setor de turismo de US$ 12,3 bilhões.
Marcelo Álvaro Antônio destacou que agora será feita uma campanha de divulgação da isenção nos países beneficiados. “Já está pronta uma campanha, inicialmente para os Estados Unidos, e agora estamos em conversa com a equipe econômica para conseguirmos o recurso para fazer a promoção do Brasil também no Canadá, no Japão e na Austrália.”
Com a facilidade do visto eletrônico, que entrou em vigor em 2018 para os mesmos países beneficiados agora com a isenção, o fluxo de visitantes dos Estados Unidos, do Canadá, do Japão e da Austrália aumentou 15,73%, com injeção de R$ 450 milhões na economia.
