A 23ª edição da Festa Literária Internacional de Paraty (Flip), que ocorreu entre 30 de julho e 3 de agosto, evento cultural realizado na paradisíaca cidade de Paraty, no Litoral Sul do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, mais uma vez reafirmou seu papel como palco de grandes nomes e revelações da literatura brasileira e internacional. Com curadoria da filósofa e editora Ana Lima Cecílio, a Festa este ano homenageou o poeta e músico curitibano Paulo Leminski e promoveu debates sobre temas atuais, como crise climática, poesia, guerras e ameaças à democracia.
Este ano, o evento destacou a força e diversidade das mulheres na literatura, com autoras consagradas e emergentes ocupando os principais palcos e promovendo discussões sobre feminicídio, memória, ancestralidade, trabalho doméstico e resistência política. Entre as revelações, uma autora brumadense chamou atenção por sua narrativa envolvente e por dar voz a personagens que desafiam as convenções sociais de um sertão baiano do século XIX.
Jeane Matias Maia, radicada em Macaé (RJ), conquistou o público com seu livro “Maria Joaquina”, uma história que retrata a trajetória de uma jovem que desafia os limites impostos pela sociedade patriarcal do seu tempo. Criada em um convento, órfã de mãe e rejeitada pelo pai, Maria Joaquina alimenta a esperança de uma vida além do claustro. Sua rotina é alterada com a chegada de uma carta misteriosa e o contato com Aristeu, um jovem aventureiro, além de revelações dolorosas sobre seu pai, Feliciano.
A narrativa acompanha Maria Joaquina após deixar o convento, enfrentando os dilemas de uma sociedade que insiste em limitar o papel da mulher à submissão. Sua relação com o avô, Coronel Armando, que lhe nega o direito ao nome da família, e a desaprovação do pai de Aristeu reforçam os obstáculos. A personagem se vê diante de uma escolha: aceitar o silêncio e a submissão ou lutar por sua liberdade e por um espaço na história que deseja construir com as próprias mãos.
Convidada pela iniciativa Loba (Literaturas e Obras de Autoras), que busca promover a escrita de autoras brasileiras, Jeane Maia participou da Flip com sua estreia literária, conquistando críticos e público com sua sensibilidade e força narrativa.
