Na Sessão Ordinária realizada no último dia 30 de abril, a Câmara Municipal de Vitória da Conquista prestou uma homenagem ao empresário e radialista Pedro Alexandre Massinha Rocha da Silva Jardim, fundador do reconhecido Grupo Cultural e Carnavalesco Massicas, em celebração aos seus 50 anos de contribuição à cultura, turismo e ao desenvolvimento econômico da cidade.
A vereadora Lara de Castro – Dra. Lara – Araújo Fernandes (Republicanos), que propôs a Moção de Aplauso, ressaltou a importância histórica do Massicas na cultura local, afirmando que “a trajetória do carnaval em Vitória da Conquista está intimamente ligada ao Massicas, que há cinco décadas traz felicidade, tradição e identidade para nossa cidade”.
A parlamentar também enfatizou a relevância de projetos que visam revitalizar e fortalecer as festividades tradicionais, especialmente após as interrupções causadas por desafios enfrentados nos últimos anos. Segundo ela, o trabalho realizado pelo Massicas tem sido crucial na revitalização dessas manifestações culturais.
O presidente da Câmara Municipal, vereador Ivan Cordeiro da Silva Filho (PL), destacou que o Massicas é mais do que um símbolo cultural; é um impulsionador do turismo e do crescimento econômico na região. “O Massicas ajuda a fortalecer o comércio local e coloca Vitória da Conquista em evidência em todo o Estado da Bahia”, enfatizou.
Pedro Alexandre Massinha também foi agraciado com a Medalha Mérito Cultural Glauber Rocha, em homenagem ao Dia Municipal da Cultura, recebendo reconhecimentos por sua dedicação e pelo impacto positivo de suas iniciativas culturais ao longo de 50 anos.
História do Massicas – 50 anos de Cultura, Esporte e Juventude em Vitória da Conquista
Fundado em 1974, o Massicas começou como um projeto voltado para o Esporte, especialmente o Futebol de Salão (Futsal). Com o tempo, expandiu suas atividades para o Futebol de Pelada, hoje conhecido como Futebol Society, e o Futebol de Campo, firmando-se como uma Entidade que conquistou a juventude estudantil e a comunidade de Vitória da Conquista.
Desde o início, o Grupo Massicas Promoções e Eventos construiu uma trajetória notável através de eventos culturais e esportivos, ganhando popularidade na cidade. A Entidade competiu em vários Campeonatos Baianos nas modalidades de Vôlei, Basquete, Handebol, Futebol Feminino e Vôlei de Praia, destacando-se pela vitória no Campeonato de Vôlei de Praia de 1984, onde participou com 166 equipes, sendo a única equipe do interior da Bahia a levar o título.
No Futebol de Campo, o Grupo competiu na Liga Conquistense de Desportos Terrestres (LCDT), revelando talentos como Chico Estrela e Denílson Costa, que se destacou em 1985 ao ser campeão baiano pelo Vitória. Outros jogadores formados pelo Massicas, como os irmãos Zó (Zoroastro Augusto Pinto Brito) e Kel (Clemente Gregório de Brito), e o goleiro Renan (Renan Olímpio Ribeiro de Morais), também deixaram sua marca no esporte profissional.
Além de seu impacto no Esporte, o Massicas participou ativamente do Carnaval de Vitória da Conquista desde 1976, inicialmente no Clube Social Conquista e, em seguida, na Avenida Bartolomeu de Gusmão, competindo com agremiações como Esnobes, Apaches e Bocão, tornando os carnavais da cidade mais vibrantes.
O Grupo conquistou a confiança de pais, professores e autoridades, facilitando a inclusão de atividades recreativas, esportivas e culturais nas Escolas e espaços públicos. Foi pioneiro na realização da Rua do Lazer em Vitória da Conquista, com a primeira edição ocorrendo na Rua Salgado Filho, onde revelou o talento musical de Evandro Correia em um evento que mesclava Esportes, Jogos de Xadrez e apresentações musicais.
O Massicas também instituiu o Festival de Música e Poesia de Vitória da Conquista, realizando três edições memoráveis na Praça São Vicente, no Jardim das Borboletas e no Cine Madrigal. Contudo, foi a Gincana Massicas que mais agitou a cidade, promovendo disputas acirradas entre equipes e momentos inesquecíveis de humor, cultura e união entre os jovens. O Grupo também promoveu Gincanas Intercolegiais e criou o Massiforró, um evento junino realizado no Parque de Exposições que celebrou a cultura nordestina.
Inovando na cena cultural local, o Massicas levou a Quadrilha Junina para o Restaurante Candelabro, um importante espaço gastronômico e cultural da cidade, além de realizar apresentações na Praça da Bandeira, ampliando ainda mais seu alcance.
Com o crescimento de suas atividades, o Grupo passou a se chamar Fundação Atividades Massicas, refletindo a diversidade de suas ações nas áreas de Esporte, Lazer e Cultura. Uma denominação inovadora, diferenciando-se dos tradicionais nomes de Fundações da época.
O Massicas conquistou também o título de campeão de Vôlei de Praia, chegando a alugar uma quadra no Colégio Dois de Julho, em Salvador, para treinos de atletas e participando de competições estaduais, como o Torneio Hollywood de Vôlei de Praia em Ilhéus.
A trajetória do Grupo está intrinsecamente ligada à história esportiva e cultural de Vitória da Conquista. Participou da criação do Ginásio de Esportes Raul Ferraz, onde manteve uma Escolinha de Esportes, e expandiu sua influência para cidades como Brumado, Itabuna, Itapetinga e Ilhéus, além de Montes Claros e Governador Valadares, em Minas Gerais, levando sua marca e promovendo eventos que permanecem na memória de todos que participaram.
