Um grave acidente foi registrado por volta do meio-dia desta terça-feira (2) na BA-262, trecho entre Anagé e o Distrito de Jiboia, em Caraíbas. A colisão envolveu um ônibus da empresa Viação Novo Horizonte e um carro de passeio modelo Hyundai Creta. Com o impacto, que deixou uma vítima fatal e seis pessoas feridas, o ônibus tombou na rodovia.
A Psicóloga Carla Edilene Carvalho de Azevedo, natural de Brumado e responsável pela Clínica do Motorista, estava no veículo de passeio e não resistiu aos ferimentos, falecendo ainda no local. O corpo foi removido pelo Departamento de Polícia Técnica da 10ª Coordenadoria Regional de Polícia Civil do Interior (10ª Coorpin) para o Instituto Médico Legal (IML) de Vitória da Conquista, onde passará por necropsia antes de ser liberado para sepultamento.
Equipes de resgate foram acionadas e prestaram socorro aos ocupantes do ônibus, que sofreram apenas ferimentos leves. A Polícia Militar Rodoviária acompanhou a ocorrência e realizou o controle do tráfego.
Durante o atendimento, a Rodovia ficou parcialmente interditada, provocando lentidão e preocupação entre motoristas que passavam pela região.
Segundo informações preliminares, ainda sujeitas à confirmação pela Perícia Técnica, o carro trafegava em direção oposta ao ônibus. O motorista do coletivo, que não teve a identidade divulgada, ao tentar desviar de um obstáculo na pista, perdeu o controle da direção, provocando a colisão frontal e o tombamento do veículo.
