O sistema de reserva de vagas e cotas adicionais no Vestibular Uesb é uma realidade instituída desde 2008. Desde a sua implantação, o principal objetivo é tornar democrático o acesso aos cursos de graduação ofertados pela principal Instituição de Ensino Superior pública da região Sudoeste da Bahia.
Assim, estudantes oriundos de escolas da rede pública, negros, quilombolas, indígenas e pessoas com deficiência têm a oportunidade de concorrer a uma vaga no Vestibular, por meio das cotas. Isso quer dizer que, no processo seletivo, um percentual das vagas são reservadas, exclusivamente, para esses grupos que foram historicamente excluídos dos espaços universitários.
Com essa Política de Ações Afirmativas, a Uesb vem se adequando à realidade na qual está inserida, ao mesmo tempo em que redesenha o perfil do público que tem chegado aos campi ou daqueles que desejam ingressar no Ensino Superior. As cotas ampliam o acesso ao conhecimento e, também, reduzem as desigualdades. Mas, você sabe como elas funcionam, de fato, no Vestibular Uesb?
Reserva de vagas – Ao se inscrever no Vestibular Uesb, o candidato faz a opção de concorrer em uma modalidade, entre elas, 50% das vagas são destinadas para a modalidade de “Ampla Concorrência” e os outros 50% para a modalidade “Reserva de Vagas”. No caso dessa última, estão disponíveis as opções “Escola Pública” e “Étnico-racial”.
Podem optar pela modalidade “Reserva de Vagas – Escola Pública”, os candidatos que estudaram o Ensino Fundamental 2 (do 6º ao 9º ano) e todo o Ensino Médio em escolas públicas, seja no âmbito federal, estadual ou municipal. O mesmo vale para os alunos que fizeram curso técnico profissional, supletivo ou outras formas de ensino, desde que observada a duração de 4 anos.
Já os candidatos que se autodeclaram negros (pretos e pardos), de acordo com a classificação étnico-racial adotada pelo Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatísticas (IBGE), podem concorrer na “Reserva de Vagas – Étnico-Racial”. Ao optar por essa modalidade, são exigidas a autodeclaração e, também, as determinações de formação da “Reserva de Vagas – Escola Pública”.
Isso se dá porque na categoria de concorrência “Reserva de Vagas”, 70% do total de vagas é destinado a estudantes que se autodeclarem negros e que sejam oriundos da rede pública de ensino. Os outros 30% são voltados para candidatos que comprovarem ter estudado, no mínimo, sete anos em instituições públicas de ensino.
Cotas adicionais – Além disso, o Vestibular Uesb conta com o diferencial das “Cotas Adicionais”. Nessa modalidade, são ofertadas três vagas a mais em cada curso, voltadas para indígenas, quilombolas e pessoas com deficiência, sendo cada uma das vagas destinada a um desses grupos.
Estão contempladas, assim, as pessoas com deficiências física, auditiva, visual, intelectual, com transtorno do espectro autista e com deficiência múltipla. Os quilombolas devem ser moradores de comunidades remanescentes de Quilombos, registradas na Fundação Cultural Palmares. Já os indígenas devem ser pessoas de etnia e comunidades reconhecidas por laudo antropológico ou certidão de registro fornecidos pela Fundação Nacional do Índio (Funai).
Para concorrer tanto na “Reserva de Vagas” como nas “Cotas Adicionais”, é necessário não ser portador de diploma de graduação. Toda a distribuição das vagas disponíveis em cada curso de graduação, por modalidade de concorrência, obedece a Política de Ações Afirmativas, implementada na Uesb por meio das Resoluções do Conselho Superior de Ensino, Pesquisa e Extensão (Consepe), desde o ano de 2008.
