Uma pesquisa recente do Ministério da Saúde mostra que 21,5 milhões de brasileiros precisam completar o ciclo vacinal com a segunda dose. Por isso, dezesseis estados vão receber 3,2 milhões de vacinas até essa terça-feira (8). Os imunizantes são da marca Pfizer e vão ser utilizados para completar as duas doses.
Morador de Vitória (ES), Marcelo José Araújo tem 43 anos e trabalha na área de administração. Ele já recebeu três doses da vacina e recomenda que todos busquem os postos de saúde. “É um alívio muito grande, sabemos e sei que não é 100% que estamos protegidos, mas também sei que se pegar a Covid-19, será branda”, explica.
A vacina é aplicada gratuitamente nos postos de saúde de todos os estados brasileiros em pessoas maiores de 5 anos de idade. Na vacinação dos menores de idade, a criança ou adolescente precisa estar acompanhada dos pais ou responsáveis.
O médico infectologista Hemerson Luz ressalta que estudos indicam que a maioria dos pacientes internados em enfermarias e UTIs de hospitais são pessoas não vacinadas ou que não concluíram o esquema vacinal. “Uma das características principais da variante Ômicron, além da sua transmissibilidade, é a capacidade de enganar o sistema imunológico usando reinfecções”, explica.

O Acre, Rondônia e Amapá decidiram não receber imunizantes nessa remessa. Já o Distrito Federal, Mato Grosso, Bahia, Rio Grande do Norte e Roraima têm o quantitativo necessário para manter a vacinação da população.
