O processo de aprendizagem de toda pessoa com o Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA) é sempre mais difícil. Segundo a psicopedagoga, a forma como o autista pensa é diferente, por isso é fundamental respeitar o tempo deles de aprendizado. Por exemplo, ela explica que muitas vezes o aluno com TEA não consegue compreender explicações da professora devido às dificuldades na forma de falar, de expressar emoções, de entender linguagem subliminar, expressões faciais e até em mudanças de tom da voz.
– Geralmente, o autista não consegue entender, por exemplo, o signo linguístico nem o que é uma representação da comunicação. Isso torna o ensino mais trabalhoso, no entanto necessário. A alfabetização dessas crianças vai além de facilitar um diálogo, traz mais qualidade de vida para elas e para as pessoas próximas – relata.
