Em janeiro de 2023, a demanda dos consumidores por linhas de crédito foi 3,5% menor em relação ao mesmo mês do ano anterior, segundo o Indicador de Demanda do Consumidor por Crédito da Serasa Experian. O levantamento mostra, ainda, que a diminuição foi maior entre aqueles que residem no Distrito Federal (-19,6%), sendo os únicos estados a marcarem saldo positivo: Santa Catarina (0,1%), São Paulo (1,5%), Tocantins (2,4%), Rio Grande do Sul (2,6%), e Amazonas (6,6%). O Indicador Serasa Experian da Demanda do Consumidor por Crédito é construído a partir de uma amostra significativa de CPFs, consultados mensalmente na base de dados da Serasa Experian. A quantidade de CPFs consultados, especificamente nas transações que configuram alguma relação creditícia entre os consumidores e instituições do sistema financeiro ou empresas não financeiras, é transformada em número índice (média de 2008 = 100).
