A dengue, doença causada pelo mosquito Aedes Aegypti, é velha conhecida dos brasileiros. Durante os meses mais chuvosos e úmidos, surtos da enfermidade costumam aparecer todos os anos. E, segundo o sistema InfoDengue, da Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (Fiocruz), a perspectiva não é das melhores: um relatório do local indica que o aquecimento global vem causando modificações no clima, modificando, por exemplo, o regime e a frequência de chuva em diversas localidades, criando um habitat perfeito para o inseto em locais que antes ele não conseguiria sobreviver, o que permite a expansão dos mosquitos para locais que geograficamente.
