Infectologista orienta sobre sintomas e cuidados para uma melhor recuperação

Após os dias intensos de Carnaval, foliões têm relatado um aumento de sintomas como febre, dor de cabeça, dor abdominal, vômitos e garganta inflamada. O infectologista e consultor do Sabin Diagnóstico e Saúde, Claudilson Bastos, explica que o período carnavalesco reúne fatores que favorecem a circulação de vírus causadores de gripe, resfriado, Covid-19 e viroses gastrointestinais, como aglomerações, contato próximo entre pessoas, mudanças na rotina, noites mal dormidas, consumo excessivo de álcool e alimentação irregular. “Esses hábitos podem comprometer o sistema imunológico e facilitar infecções, principalmente gastrointestinais e respiratórias”, esclarece.

Entre os principais sintomas das infecções virais estão mal-estar geral, febre, enjoo, vômitos, diarreia, dor abdominal e inflamação na garganta. O médico destaca que, na maioria dos casos, as viroses e doenças respiratórias desse período são autolimitadas, mas exigem atenção especial, principalmente, em crianças, idosos e pessoas com imunidade reduzida. 

“Ao perceber o agravamento dos sinais, como febre alta e persistente, falta de ar, saturação baixa de oxigênio, tosse com secreção amarelada ou esverdeada, confusão mental, sonolência excessiva e/ou desidratação, o atendimento médico deve ser procurado imediatamente”, orienta.

Entre os cuidados básicos para enfrentar esse período pós-folia, que pode durar, em média, sete dias, estão alimentação leve, hidratação constante, repouso e evitar a automedicação. “Esses cuidados são extremamente importantes, especialmente com relação ao uso de medicamentos sem orientação profissional, como antibióticos, pois eles podem mascarar doenças graves, além de causar reações adversas, alérgicas e resistência ao antimicrobiano, dentre outras”, completa.
