Os deputados Zé Raimundo (estadual) e Waldenor (federal) marcaram presença, neste sábado (22), na posse canônica de Dom Vitor Agnaldo Menezes como novo arcebispo metropolitano de Vitória da Conquista. A cerimônia, realizada na Catedral Metropolitana Nossa Senhora das Vitórias, reuniu fiéis e representantes da Igreja Católica em um momento de celebração. Após a posse canônica, uma missa em ação de graças foi celebrada no Parque de Exposições Teopompo de Almeida. O evento contou com a presença de delegações vindas de outros estados e também de municípios da região.
O deputado Zé Raimundo ressaltou a relevância da posse para a comunidade católica conquistense e destacou a honra de acompanhar o evento. “Quero parabenizar toda a comunidade cristã católica por este grande evento que foi a posse canônica e essa missa de graça para a recepção de Dom Vitor Menezes, o novo arcebispo metropolitano de Vitória da Conquista. Foi uma honra e um privilégio testemunhar esse momento tão especial”.
Além do ato religioso, Zé Raimundo ressaltou a oportunidade de reencontro com importantes lideranças da Igreja Católica, que já passaram por Vitória da Conquista e hoje ocupam cargos de destaque na hierarquia eclesiástica “Foi também um momento de rever grandes nomes da nossa Igreja, como Dom Zanoni, Dom Estevão, Dom Pepeu e Dom João Cardoso. Tenho certeza de que Dom Vitor fará um trabalho brilhante à frente da arquidiocese, conduzindo a comunidade com sabedoria e dedicação”.
O deputado federal Waldenor também destacou a importância do evento e o papel da Igreja Católica na construção de uma sociedade mais justa e solidária. “A Igreja Católica tem um papel importante no fortalecimento da solidariedade e acolhimento. A posse de Dom Vitor é um marco para Vitória da Conquista e toda a região, e fico muito feliz em participar desse momento histórico”.
Waldenor ainda expressou votos de uma missão próspera ao novo arcebispo, reafirmando seu compromisso com a comunidade católica e com o desenvolvimento da região.“Que sua trajetória à frente da arquidiocese seja abençoada e repleta de realizações”.
Com a nomeação feita pelo Papa Francisco em fevereiro deste ano, Dom Vitor assume a liderança da Arquidiocese de Vitória da Conquista, que abrange 35 paróquias em 20 municípios do Centro-Sul baiano, sucedendo a Dom Josafá Menezes.
