Deoclides Ferreira das Neves, conhecido como Dió da pensão Primor. “Analfabeto de pai e mãe”, como diz o linguajar popular, porém famoso pelas qualidades e versatilidades culinárias e por seus inigualáveis temperos. Um verdadeiro mestre-cuca de inteligência intuitiva.
Deoclides nasceu em 08/08/1897, em Piatã, filho de Luzia Ferreira das Neves, nascida em 10/06/1860, em Livramento/BA. Casou-se em 06/10/1922, com Blandina de Oliveira Meira, nascida em 10/12/1907 e filha de Maria Angélica de Oliveira Meira, nascida em 08/06/1884.
Dió trabalhou em vários lugares: Contendas do Sincorá, Fazenda Poções situada nos Olhos d’Água de Deô, com João Pedro de Lima, e depois, aportou na Fazenda Tocadas, de propriedade de Teófilo de Lima. Posteriormente veio para Brumado, aqui se estabeleceu com pensão, inicialmente na Rua Exupério Canguçu e depois na Praça da Bandeira (Praça da Matriz), atual Praça Capitão Francisco de Souza Meira, com a Pensão Primor. Posteriormente se estabeleceu com prédio próprio na Rua Grande, hoje, Cel. Tibério Meira, na qual se hospedaram personalidades ilustres, incluindo políticos de prol. Entre eles o professor Anísio Teixeira – Ministro da Educação e grande pensador, Dr. Lomanto Júnior – Governador do Estado da Bahia, Ovídio Teixeira – Senador da República, Dr. Vasco Neto – Engenheiro e Deputado, Pedro Moraes – avô do Governador da Bahia e o próprio Nilo Coelho – Governador da Bahia e tantas outras personalidades. Eram mensalistas pessoas do nosso convívio Edvaldo Ataíde, os irmãos Sidney e Ubaldo Meirelles, respectivamente, bancário, promotor público e odontologista, entre outros.
A pensão Primor era ponto de encontro, geralmente à noite, para uma estirada de prosa, adentrando a madrugada, um bate-papo saudável, diversificado e informal. Deoclides Ferreira das Neves, o nosso querido e saudoso Dió, apesar de analfabeto, era um homem espirituoso e inteligente. Versado em temas políticos, entusiasta peemedebista e apaixonado pelo partido, era eleitor de “Admundo” – prefeito Edmundo – e admirador de doutor “Danta” – o médico e político Dante Guedes, ambos, filiado ao PMDB.
Naqueles tempos de Intendentes e de Coronéis mandantes, não havia meios de comunicação que funcionassem com a rapidez e a frequência de hoje. As notícias chegavam por intermédio dos visitantes ilustres e dos viajantes que traziam as gazetas da capital, sempre com grande atraso. Dió após ouvir a leitura e os comentários de seus hóspedes se encarregava de transmiti-las aos amigos, especialmente na feira livre.
O Major Aurélio, político de prestígio e influência local era um dos primeiros a serem informados das novidades e, por sua vez, transmitia ao “comunicador” as últimas notícias locais de seu interesse, com a certeza de tê-las assim “anunciadas”, concretizando os seus objetivos políticos.
Quando ia à feira, manhãzinha, antes de o sol nascer, para comprar carne fresca de bode, levava consigo uma gamela de madeira que usava para o acondicionamento das compras a serem usadas no preparo alimentar. Uma das suas especialidades era o ensopado de bode, cujo tempero fazia a diferença. Na feira fazia a divulgação das notícias ouvidas de seus hospedes e as do cel. Aureliano.
Dió, por quem nutríamos estima e consideração, foi um grande amigo, de meu pai Flavinho e meu. Ele costumava retribuir os elogios e cumprimentos que recebia sempre com a mesma resposta: “O mesmo tanto lhe ofereço; nem mais, nem menos” e outras de seu repertório. Em diversas situações proferia provérbios como “Cavalo corredor rédea curta”, “Papagaio come milho, periquito leva a fama”, etc. Crítico dos desvios da conduta e do comportamento sociais das famílias, tendo uma filha que, por descuido, engravidara, quando maldosamente alguém perguntavam notícias da filha, com o intuito de humilhá-lo os brios, filósofo dizia: “Quem tira virgindade de moça é cabeça de menino, enquanto não parir para mim é moça”.
Figura ímpar, honrada e honesta, de muitas amizades, merece o nosso respeito e reverência. Foi um cidadão importante e de destaque na comunidade brumadense do seu tempo. Não pode ser esquecido pela sociedade à qual serviu, honrou e dignificou com sua personalidade de homem simples e humilde, que prestou um serviço inestimável à cidade de sua opção para viver.
Era analfabeto, não por escolha ou vontade, mas por falta de oportunidades e de incentivos que lhe foram subtraídos, como sói acontecer neste Brasil injusto, de tantos caciques políticos e tantos líderes (vaqueiros humanos) que pouco se têm preocupado com o povo humilde e pobre. Este fica à mercê das esmolas dos programas sociais quando, na verdade, necessita é de trabalho digno, de educação, de trabalho e da promoção social que o dignifiquem.
Aliás, os governantes e as elites dominantes não têm demonstrado interesse em instruir o povo, porque necessitam dele como massa de manobra, pois povo educado tem consciência de seus direitos, é reivindicador – incomoda.
Muito bem informado, Dió faleceu aos noventa anos, em oito de agosto de 1988, em sua residência na rua Cel. Tibério Meira, cercado de amigos e familiares que lhe prestaram a última homenagem. Encontra-se sepultado no cemitério municipal Senhor do Bonfim.
