Tratamento de reabilitação é multidisciplinar e envolve a atuação de áreas como fisioterapia, enfermagem, fonoaudiologia e medicina

Foi por causa de um enrijecimento interno do abdômen que Maria Fátima Visnevski, aos 48 anos, procurou um especialista. Ao chegar ao médico, ela descobriu que o problema era causado pela Doença de Parkinson – problema que afeta mais de 200 mil pessoas no Brasil. A partir daí, ela iniciou a sua jornada de tratamento e controle da doença, que já dura 30 anos.
Médico geriatra da Clínica Florence Unidade Salvador, Rafael Calazans lembra que o Parkinson é uma doença neurológica que compromete a função motora do paciente, provocando tremores de mãos, rigidez no movimento do corpo, vagarosidade e rigidez nas articulações, como o vivenciado por Maria Fátima. “Ela não é uma doença neurológica qualquer, já que apresenta uma progressão degenerativa. Ou seja, ela sempre avança e o tratamento tem a função de controlar os sintomas”, diz o médico.
À medida em que avança, a enfermidade impacta na cognição e na capacidade da realização de atividades comuns do cotidiano, como na locomoção, no ato de escrever, escovar os dentes ou se arrumar.
Os impactos da reabilitação
A reabilitação para pacientes com Parkinson é multidisciplinar. A fisioterapia trabalha a parte motora; a terapia ocupacional ajuda ao paciente adequar sua rotina diante das dificuldades; a fonoaudiologia auxilia na capacidade de deglutição e na fala; a nutrição contribui com a dieta nutricional; a equipe de enfermagem realiza os cuidados diários; a assistência social e a psicologia cuidam da saúde social e mental do paciente e da família e os médicos atuam na área clínica e medicamentosa.
“A reabilitação é importante porque ela é global e trabalha todas essas áreas, melhorando a parte motora e impactando, também, no comportamento, na cognição, no humor e, dessa forma, proporcionando ao paciente uma maior qualidade de vida”, explica o geriatra. Ele complementa ainda que todas essas diferentes áreas atuam em conjunto e potencializam os resultados da reabilitação.
Natália Visnevski, filha de Maria Fátima, lembra que sua mãe enfrentou problemas com a administração dos medicamentos, depressão e chegou a ficar sem andar antes de procurar a Clínica Florence para o tratamento de reabilitação. “Minha mãe entrou na clínica sem falar, andar e comer. Com todo o tratamento recebido e as terapias ocupacionais, fisioterapia e fonoaudiologia, ela já está recebendo alta após 30 dias de internamento, já se alimentando, lúcida e se movimentando com menos rigidez”, comemora.
Para ela, o momento que mais lhe marcou nesse processo de reabilitação da mãe foi o avanço com a fonoaudiologia, pois ela chegou a acreditar que a mãe poderia não voltar mais a comer ou beber água. “Vendo os resultados do tratamento, tenho a certeza de que foi uma aposta muito feliz”, diz.
Abordagem individualizada
Rafael Calazans reforça que o tratamento de reabilitação necessita de uma abordagem individualizada e deve ser iniciada assim que os primeiros sinais de perda neurológica ou cognitiva apareçam. A duração da internação vai depender também da gravidade do caso e pacientes mais graves exigem um tempo maior de cuidado.
“A doença de Parkinson atua de modo diferente em cada pessoa e o tratamento precisa contemplar essas peculiaridades. Então, a gente precisa entender quem é esse paciente, quem é essa família e como a doença se porta nessa pessoa antes de fazer esse plano de cuidados individualizados”, informa Calazans.
O médico também afirma que, “apesar de ser uma doença com muitos desafios e sem cura, existem tratamentos que ajudam a desacelerar o avanço do Parkinson, controlar os sintomas e contribuem para uma vida mais longeva e com qualidade enquanto a doença existir”.
