Na tarde da quarta-feira (9), o governador Jerônimo Rodrigues Souza (PT) participou de uma audiência estratégica em Brasília, junto ao ministro de Estado da Integração e Desenvolvimento Regional, Antônio Waldez Góes da Silva, e Técnicos da Secretaria Nacional de Proteção e Defesa Civil. O encontro, realizado na Sala de Monitoramento da Esplanada dos Ministérios, que teve como foco a articulação de medidas emergenciais e estruturais para combater os efeitos da seca, contou com a presença de parlamentares e prefeitos baianos.
Durante o encontro, o governador baiano apresentou ao Governo Federal um Plano que contém propostas urgentes e estruturantes para lidar com a estiagem prolongada. A expectativa é que, já na próxima semana, o Estado anuncie um conjunto de ações para apoiar os municípios que sofrem com a seca. A audiência também reuniu líderes políticos e técnicos para estabelecer soluções conjuntas entre a União, Estados e municípios.
“A situação atual exige respostas rápidas e coordenadas. Não se trata apenas de ações emergenciais, mas de estratégias sustentáveis que assegurem a segurança hídrica e a dignidade das famílias que vivem no semiárido. Reiteramos em Brasília a importância de um pacto nacional para fortalecer as políticas públicas focadas no combate à estiagem”, afirmou Jerônimo Rodrigues.
Atualmente, mais de 70 municípios baianos enfrentam uma situação crítica devido à falta prolongada de chuvas, resultando em graves prejuízos para a agricultura familiar, comprometendo o abastecimento de água e afetando diretamente as comunidades rurais.
O governador e comitiva enfatizaram, no encontro com o ministro de Estado da Integração e Desenvolvimento Regional, a gravidade do cenário e ressaltaram a necessidade de ampliar o apoio do Governo Federal para ações emergenciais, como o abastecimento por meio de carros-pipa, perfuração e recuperação de poços, distribuição de cestas básicas e alimentos para animais, além de investimentos em infraestrutura hídrica. O intuito, reforçaram, é garantir um suporte imediato às populações mais afetadas e, ao mesmo tempo, desenvolver soluções sustentáveis para a convivência com o semiárido.
Acompanharam o governador Jerônimo Rodrigues na audiência com o ministro de Estado da Integração e Desenvolvimento Regional, os secretários de Estado das Relações Institucionais (Adolpho Henrique Almeida Loyola), Chefe da Casa civil (Afonso Bandeira Florence) e do Desenvolvimento Rural (Osni Cardoso de Araújo); o Diretor-Presidente da Companhia de Desenvolvimento e Ação Regional – CAR (Jeandro Laytynher Ribeiro) e a Coordenadora do Escritório de Representação do Governo da Bahia em Brasília, Elisabete

A reunião da quarta-feira em Brasília ocorreu após um encontro em Salvador, realizado no último domingo (6), presidido pelo governador Jerônimo Rodrigues, que contou com a presença de secretários de Estado e gestores de órgãos envolvidos diretamente no combate à seca para alinhar as ações do Governo Estadual e as necessidades dos municípios afetados.
