O piolho é um problema que afeta crianças e adultos, principalmente em escolas e creches. Embora os remédios tradicionais, como shampoo e loções químicas, sejam amplamente utilizados, alternativas naturais são opções mais suaves e menos invasivas.
“Os benefícios dos produtos caseiros é que eles são de baixo custo e incluem itens comuns, disponíveis em casa, como vinagre, azeite, óleo de coco ou óleo essencial. Eles dificultam a resistência e são diferentes dos medicamentos convencionais. Porém, apesar de serem naturais, podem causar reações alérgicas ou irritações no couro cabeludo, principalmente em crianças”, afirma Edilene Gadelhas, coordenadora do curso de Farmácia da UNINASSAU Dorotéias.
As limitações do tratamento com produtos caseiros se devem à falta de evidência científica e comprovada. “Em termos de eficácia, as medidas farmacológicas convencionais (shampoos e loções antiparasitárias contendo permetrina, ivermectina, dimeticona etc.) são significativamente mais eficazes e confiáveis do que a maioria das caseiras à base de ervas e plantas”, esclarece.
É importante lembrar que o combate aos piolhos deve ser constante e rigoroso. Além do tratamento direto, a higienização de roupas de cama, toalhas e objetos pessoais é essencial para evitar a reinfestação. Manter uma rotina de inspeção e limpeza frequente também ajuda na prevenção.
O uso de misturas naturais requer extrema cautela. “O óleo de Melaleuca pode ser utilizado com 2 a 4 gotas diluídas em 1 colher de sopa para crianças maiores de 2 anos. Nunca deve ser usado puro na pele. O vinagre deve ser diluído com água (50/50). Em seguida, deixe agir por 15 minutos e use pente fino para remoção de lêndeas”, afirma a farmacêutica.
A dosagem e forma de aplicação de plantas usadas como remédios naturais contra piolhos variam bastante. E não existem protocolos padronizados oficialmente reconhecidos por órgãos reguladores, como ANVISA ou FDA. Além disso, é fundamental consultar um profissional de saúde, especialmente em casos mais graves ou persistentes, para garantir que o tratamento seja adequado e seguro para cada caso.
