As estudantes Tauany da Silva Santos e Joseanne Santos Ribeiro, ambas com 16 anos, alunas do Colégio Estadual de Tempo Integral de Rio do Antônio, deram origem ao Projeto “Cicatriveck”, uma pomada cicatrizante 100% natural feita a partir da folha de mandioca, voltada para uso veterinário. Motivadas pela necessidade de oferecer uma alternativa acessível aos pequenos criadores da região, elas combinaram ciência, sustentabilidade e conhecimentos tradicionais para acelerar a cicatrização de feridas em animais e diminuir o uso de antibióticos sintéticos.
A criação da Cicatriveck começou com a identificação do desafio enfrentado pelos criadores locais em tratar ferimentos nos animais com produtos acessíveis e naturais. Os testes para desenvolver o produto tiveram início em abril de 2024, quando as jovens pesquisadoras isolaram e padronizaram os compostos bioativos presentes na folha de mandioca.
“Optamos por desenvolver uma pomada porque é de fácil aplicação e age diretamente na ferida do animal. Nossa primeira versão ficou líquida demais, mas, ao adicionar banha de porco como agente espessante, conseguimos a textura ideal”, explicou Joseanne. Segundo ela, a aplicação inicial em um animal foi realizada em maio do mesmo ano e, após dez dias de uso contínuo, foi possível perceber uma redução visível na inflamação e o início da regeneração do tecido.
A fórmula da pomada inclui, além da mandioca, o Barbatimão (Stryphnodendron adstringens ou Stryphnodendron barbatimam ), conhecido por suas propriedades antimicrobianas; a Babosa (Áloe Vera), que acelera a renovação celular; e o Mastruz (Chenopodium ambrosioides), com ação anti-inflamatória. A combinação desses ingredientes resulta em um produto capaz de proteger a ferida de infecções e estimular o reparo natural da pele. Para as jovens cientistas, ver a Cicatriveck sendo utilizada na prática é a maior recompensa. “Participar de um Projeto que une ciência, natureza e comunidade me fez crescer como estudante e como pessoa. Ver que um produto que desenvolvi com minhas próprias mãos está ajudando os animais da nossa região é motivo de muito orgulho”, afirma Joseanne.
Após apresentar a pomada na Feira de Ciências, Empreendedorismo Social e Inovação da Bahia (Feciba), Tauany e Joseanne planejam os próximos passos. Desde o lançamento do perfil @pomada_natural no Instagram, em junho de 2024, elas vêm mostrando os resultados e trocando experiências. “Nosso objetivo agora é ampliar a produção e alcançar criadores em todo o Estado”, revela Tauany. Com determinação e espírito inovador, as duas pretendem transformar a Cicatriveck em uma referência nacional de tratamento veterinário sustentável.
