O Instituto Butantan deve enviar, a partir desta quinta-feira (18), mais de 10.100 doses da vacina contra a Covid-19 à Manaus. A medida faz parte do início de um estudo clínico sobre o efeito da imunização em pessoas com comorbidades.
Durante a ação, profissionais de educação e da segurança pública da rede estadual lotados na capital do estado, com idade entre 18 e 49 anos, serão vacinados antecipadamente e acompanhados pela equipe de pesquisa.
Segundo o diretor-presidente do Instituto Butantan, Dimas Covas, o estudo será importante para responder perguntas científicas relevantes sobre o efeito da vacina em pessoas que têm comorbidade.
Os participantes do estudo serão 10 mil moradores de Manaus: 5 mil vão receber a vacina que está sendo enviada agora. Os outros 5 mil vão fazer parte do grupo controle, e serão vacinados de acordo com o plano de imunização do município.
A pesquisa é uma parceria do Butantan com a Universidade do Estado do Amazonas (UEA), o governo do Amazonas, a Fundação de Medicina Tropical Doutor Heitor Vieira Dourado e a Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado do Amazonas.
Os interessados em participar da pesquisa devem acessar o site www.ipccb.org/covacmanaus, preencher o formulário de cadastro e aceitar o termo de consentimento.
