Um grupo de artistas, agentes culturais e representantes do Ministério da Cultura (Minc) e da Organização das Nações Unidas para a Educação, a Ciência e a Cultura (Unesco) se reuniu nesta terça-feira (23), em Brasília, para celebrar o Dia Mundial da Diversidade Cultural para o Diálogo e o Desenvolvimento.
A data é comemorada desde 2002, quando foi instituída com o objetivo de conscientizar a população e os governantes sobre a importância das múltiplas expressões culturais presentes em todo o mundo. No Brasil, este ano, acabou servindo também para que os participantes do evento organizado pelo Minc comemorassem a recriação da pasta – extinta na gestão federal passada e recriada no início deste ano, com o início do atual governo.
“Queria agradecer ao Ministério da Cultura por sediar esta celebração; dizer que, com isso, vocês alegraram meu dia e, lembrando [os músicos] Belchior e Emicida, dizer que, nos outros anos eu morri, mas este ano eu não morro”, comentou a representante da Unesco no Brasil, Marlova Noleto, após lembrar que, em meados dos anos 2000, o Brasil cumpriu um papel “fundamental” no processo de convencer outros países a aderirem à Convenção sobre Proteção e Promoção da Diversidade das Expressões Culturais.

“Na época, o [então] ministro da Cultura, Gilberto Gil, viajou o mundo inteiro promovendo a convenção e o Brasil foi um dos primeiros signatários [do texto], ajudando muito no convencimento da importância da diversidade cultural”, contou Noleto, avaliando os potenciais efeitos da efeméride.
“O Dia Mundial da Diversidade Cultural nos aponta caminhos para recordarmos e disseminarmos quais são nossos valores comuns enquanto humanidade e para fortalecermos a luta pela garantia e preservação dos direitos sociais, educacionais, culturais e ambientais”, pontuou Marlova, frisando que a valorização cultural deve ser capaz de proporcionar aos diversos grupos sociais “mais inclusão, participação, inserção econômica e liberdade artística”.
Cultura de Paz
Durante o evento, realizado no auditório do Ministério dos Direitos Humanos e Cidadania, na Esplanada dos Ministérios, a ministra da Cultura, Margareth Menezes, antecipou que as secretarias de Cidadania e Diversidade Cultural e dos Comitês de Cultura irão promover, em breve, uma conferência temática sobre diversidade cultural, com o objetivo de permitir à sociedade apresentar sugestões e contribuições sobre o tema.
“A diversidade cultural – que se refere à variedade de costumes, tradições, crenças, valores, línguas e formas de expressão presentes em diferentes grupos e comunidades – é importante porque enriquece nossa compreensão de mundo, promove o respeito pela diferença e ajuda a garantir a preservação de diferentes identidades culturais”, destacou a ministra.
“Mas é importante reconhecer que a diversidade cultural também pode ser fonte de conflitos e de discriminação e que, por isso, devemos trabalhar para promover a inclusão e o diálogo intercultural. O mundo vive um momento crucial para a luta contra os preconceitos e a discriminação racial. […] Mais do que nunca, é essencial promovermos o diálogo cultural e celebrarmos a diversidade presente em nossas sociedades – diversidade que é fundamental para a construção de uma sociedade mais justa e inclusiva”, disse a ministra, que também comentou a recriação do Minc.

“[A data] é mais um momento para celebrarmos a retomada do Ministério da Cultura, que promove o fortalecimento do processo de escuta da sociedade. É a partir da integração entre o Poder Público e a sociedade que as políticas públicas têm seus efeitos amplificados e, consequentemente, o acesso aos direitos culturais assegurados na Constituição.”

Segundo a Unesco, 89% dos conflitos existentes hoje no mundo ocorrem em países com baixo diálogo intercultural. A entidade ressalta que o setor cultural e criativo é um dos mais poderosos motores de desenvolvimento do mundo. A cultura representa 6,2% de todos os empregos existentes e 3,1% do Produto Interno Bruto (PIB) global.
No Brasil, de acordo com estudo recente do Observatório Itaú Cultural, a economia da cultura e das indústrias criativas (ECIC) do país movimentou R$ 230,14 bilhões, equivalente a 3,11% do PIB, em 2020. Isto apesar de, segundo a Unesco, o setor ainda não ter o devido reconhecimento no âmbito das políticas públicas.
