São 67.301 vagas para o 1º semestre e 44.867 vagas para o segundo

O Ministério da Educação (MEC) informou nesta quinta-feira (2) que vai ofertar 112.168 novas vagas para o Fundo de Financiamento Estudantil (Fies) ao longo de 2025, sendo 67.301 vagas no primeiro semestre e 44.867 vagas no segundo semestre.
“A medida foi regulamentada pela Resolução CG-Fies nº 61/2024, publicada na terça-feira, 31 de dezembro, pelo Comitê Gestor do Fundo de Financiamento Estudantil (CG-Fies)”, destacou a pasta, em nota.
A resolução, de acordo com o ministério, também antecipa a oferta de vagas semelhantes para o Fies para os anos de 2026 e 2027, conforme previsto no plano trienal.
Entenda
O fundo foi instituído pela Lei nº 10.260, de 12 de julho de 2001. O objetivo é conceder financiamento a estudantes de cursos de graduação em instituições de educação superior privadas aderentes ao programa e com avaliação positiva no Sistema Nacional de Avaliação da Educação Superior (Sinaes).
Desde 2018, segundo o MEC, o Fies possibilita juros zero e uma escala de financiamento que varia conforme a renda familiar do candidato.
Fies Social
Em 2024, a pasta lançou o Fies Social, que reserva 50% das vagas a candidatos inscritos no Cadastro Único para Programas Sociais do Governo Federal (CadÚnico) e com renda familiar per capita de até meio salário mínimo.
A nova modalidade permite financiamento de até 100% dos encargos educacionais, além de reservar cotas para pretos, pardos, indígenas, quilombolas e pessoas com deficiência. No primeiro semestre de 2024, 39.419 estudantes migraram do Fies para o Fies Social.
