A Filarmônica Euterpe Lapense, fundada em 1918, completará 107 anos em 2025, consolidando sua importância na preservação da cultura popular e na formação musical de várias gerações de jovens de Bom Jesus da Lapa. Sob a direção do Mestre Gilberto Júnior Santos, a banda tem inovado seu repertório e conquistado reconhecimento em todo o Estado da Bahia.
Considerada um dos maiores símbolos culturais de Bom Jesus da Lapa, a centenária filarmônica protagonizou um momento memorável durante as celebrações do 2 de Julho em Salvador, a data máxima da Independência da Bahia. Durante o tradicional desfile cívico pelo Centro Histórico da capital, a Euterpe Lapense destacou-se como um dos principais destaques, levando sua história e cultura ao palco mais amplo, simbolizando o orgulho, a resistência e o protagonismo do interior baiano em uma das datas mais emblemáticas do país.
Pela primeira vez, a banda participou oficialmente do Desfile Cívico do 2 de Julho em Salvador, tendo sido selecionada entre as três melhores filarmônicas do Estado. Sua apresentação trouxe à capital a riqueza sonora, a tradição e o talento musical do interior baiano, emocionando o público e elevando o nome da instituição a um novo patamar na música instrumental da Bahia.
O sucesso na estreia também rendeu à Euterpe Lapense um convite para integrar o Baile da Independência, promovido pela Prefeitura Municipal de Salvador e conduzido pelo Maestro Fred Dantas no Campo Grande. Este evento reuniu algumas das mais respeitadas bandas do Estado e celebrou a música como instrumento de civismo e identidade cultural, reforçando a importância da Filarmônica Euterpe Lapense como símbolo da cultura de Bom Jesus da Lapa.
Atualmente, a Filarmônica Euterpe Lapense reúne cerca de quarenta músicos e está SEDIADA no andar superior da Casa da Cultura Lapense, na Praça do Livro, nos fundos da Biblioteca Municipal. Este grupo foi reconhecido como de Utilidade Pública pela Lei 4670, promulgada em 27 de junho de 1986, pela Assembleia Legislativa da Bahia.
