O governador Jerônimo Rodrigues Souza (PT) anunciou na segunda-feira (30), por meio de vídeo publicado nas redes sociais, que o Estado vai integrar o esforço fiscal proposto pelo Governo Federal para reduzir os impactos da alta do óleo diesel, agravada pela guerra no Oriente Médio.
Segundo Jerônimo Rodrigues, a Bahia assumirá metade do subsídio de até R$ 1,20 por litro do diesel importado. A União ficará responsável por R$ 0,60, enquanto o Estado arcará com os outros R$ 0,60.
O governador destacou que, desde o início da crise internacional, a gestão estadual tem atuado em sintonia com as medidas federais para minimizar os efeitos sobre trabalhadores diretamente afetados pelo aumento dos combustíveis. “Determinei que a Bahia participe desse esforço, assumindo metade do custo da subvenção, em alinhamento com o Governo do presidente Lula e com o compromisso de proteger a economia da nossa população”, afirmou.
A decisão ocorre após a União apresentar uma alternativa à isenção do ICMS sobre a importação do diesel, diante de entraves legais. Para Jerônimo Rodrigues, a solução encontrada é viável e necessária diante do cenário atual. “Estamos em condições de dar essa contribuição, que é um esforço fiscal responsável para proteger a economia popular e garantir o abastecimento”, reforçou.
Além da adesão ao subsídio, o Governo baiano anunciou que vai intensificar a fiscalização na cadeia de distribuição e comercialização de combustíveis. O objetivo é coibir práticas abusivas e assegurar que a redução chegue efetivamente ao consumidor final.
