Na manhã da segunda-feira (25), o governador Jerônimo Rodrigues Souza (PT), acompanhado do ministro de Estado Chefe da Casa Civil, ex-governador Rui Costa dos Santos (PT), e dos secretários de Estado de Desenvolvimento Urbano e de Relações Institucionais da Bahia, respectivamente, Jusmari Terezinha de Souza Oliveira e Luiz Carlos Caetano; do subsecretário de Estado da Segurança Pública, Marcel Ahringsmann de Oliveira, e do Comandante Geral da Polícia Militar, Cel PM José Reis de Azevedo Coutinho, cumpriu agenda de trabalho em Santa Maria da Vitória.
Na agenda, a entrega de 250 Unidades Habitacionais do Programa Minha Casa, Minha Vida, do Residencial Alto do Paraíso II. As obras foram executadas e financiadas em parceira entre o Governo do Estado, através da Secretaria de Estado do Desenvolvimento Urbano da Bahia, e o Governo Federal, por meio da Caixa Econômica Federal, beneficiando uma população estimada em mil pessoas.

A entrega de Unidades Habitacionais do Minha Casa, Minha Vida em Santa Maria da Vitória fez parte de uma programação do Governo Federal, foi realizada simultaneamente com entregas nos municípios de Maceió (AL), Aracruz (ES) e São Vicente (SP), contando com a presença, por videoconferência, do presidente da República, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).
Em seu pronunciamento, no ato de entrega das chaves das Unidades Habitacionais, o governador Jerônimo Rodrigues lembrou que as obras, que teriam sido anunciadas há nove anos e logo foram paralisadas, sendo retomadas agora “que o Brasil voltou a fazer política (social) séria”. O governador destacou que a retomada das obras de construção do Conjunto Habitacional incluiu intervenções para implantação da infraestrutura – água, energia elétrica, iluminação pública, esgotamento sanitário e drenagem – além da construção de Escola, Creche, Posto de Saúde e Posto de Segurança Pública. O total investido no Conjunto habitacional Residencial Alto do Paraíso II foi de R$ 18,4 milhões.
O governador anunciou ainda que a Prefeitura Municipal de Santa Maria da Vitória irá isentar os moradores do pagamento do Imposto Predial e Territorial Urbano (IPTU).

Após a entrega das Unidades Habitacionais, o governador inaugurou a Unidade Conjugada das Polícias Civil e Militar, que vai abrigar a sede da 26ª Coordenadoria de Polícia Civil do Interior (26ª Coorpin) e da 30ª Companhia Independente da Polícia Militar. A construção da Unidade Conjugada, executada pela Secretaria de Estado de Segurança Pública da Bahia, exigiu investimentos da ordem de R$ 8 milhões.
Jerônimo Rodrigues também fez a entrega do Sistema Simplificado de Abastecimento de Água do Assentamento Vila Nova. A obra foi executada pela Secretaria de Estado de Infraestrutura Hídrica e de Saneamento da Bahia, através da Companhia de Engenharia Hídrica e de Saneamento da Bahia (Cerb).
