Na última sexta-feira (3), o Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE) divulgou os resultados da produção industrial no mês de março. De acordo com a pesquisa, março apresentou um crescimento de 0,9% em comparação com fevereiro. Já no primeiro trimestre de 2024, o setor industrial teve alta de 1,9%.
No acumulado dos últimos 12 meses, o avanço foi de 0,7% em março — menor que o resultado de fevereiro (1,0%). No entanto, houve um recuo de 2,8% em relação ao mesmo mês de 2023. O gerente da Pesquisa Industrial Mensal do IBGE, André Macedo, diz que existe uma tendência de crescimento nos últimos resultados.
“Nas últimas oito informações, só tivemos um resultado negativo, que foi o de janeiro deste ano, com uma queda de 1,1%, e dos outros meses resultados de alguma forma do campo positivo, alguns mais expressivos, outros nem tanto, mas fato é que a gente tem algum tipo de melhora para essa produção industrial desde meados de 2023”, avalia.
Ele afirma que o resultado superou o patamar de antes da pandemia, em fevereiro de 2020, o que indica melhora de ritmo para o setor, mas reforça que, mesmo com a maior frequência de resultados positivos, o setor industrial ainda tem um importante espaço a ser recuperado por causa das perdas que teve recentemente.
Para o economista Fernando de Aquino, membro da Comissão de Política Econômica do Conselho Federal de Economia (Cofecon), o setor industrial no Brasil ainda continua num processo lento de crescimento.
“O que chama a atenção é a queda muito alta de 10,7% na produção de bens de capital, que são os bens que vão ser usados na ampliação da capacidade produtiva da economia, na formação bruta de capital fixo. Então, se a gente não está aumentando a capacidade produtiva da economia, isso significa que a gente não está com ritmo de crescimento da capacidade produtiva, que dá suporte ao crescimento do PIB, em um ritmo aceitável”, comenta.

O levantamento mostra que o resultado foi puxado para cima principalmente por causa dos produtos têxteis (4,5%), impressão e reprodução de gravações (8,2%) e produtos alimentícios (1,0%).
Esta última apresenta uma dinâmica semelhante a do setor em geral, como explica o gerente do IBGE.
“Intensifica o crescimento observado já no mês anterior, avançando 1% nesse mês. É um segmento industrial que já há algum tempo vem apresentando resultados positivos. Para a gente ter como referência esse segmento industrial está 7,3% acima do patamar pré-pandemia. Lembrando que o total do setor industrial está 0,4%”, analisa Macedo.
Já entre as 20 atividades que apontaram recuo na produção, veículos automotores, reboques e carrocerias (-6,0%) e equipamentos de informática, produtos eletrônicos e ópticos (-13,3%) foram as principais. Também apresentaram quedas os produtos químicos (-2,0%), bebidas (-3,3%), couro, artigos para viagem e calçados (-6,0%), de confecção de artigos do vestuário e acessórios (-4,5%).
