No dia 26 de novembro de 2024, o IFBA de Vitória da Conquista comemorou 30 anos de sua implantação na cidade, em comemoração foi realizada uma solenidade no último dia 29 de novembro, no Auditório Central do Instituto Federal da Bahia (IFBA), às 19h.
Atualmente o campus oferece para Vitória da Conquista e Norte de Minas Gerais cursos de educação tecnológica profissional em diversos níveis do sistema de educação, desde o Ensino Médio ao Ensino Superior. Na modalidade integrada são ofertados cursos em Eletromecânica, Eletrônica, Informática e Meio Ambiente. Para o ensino subsequente estão disponíveis Informática, Edificações, Eletromecânica e Segurança do Trabalho. Já o Ensino Superior oferta Engenharia Civil, Ambiental, Elétrica, Sistemas de Informação e Licenciatura em Química.
O deputado federal Waldenor Pereira (PT), participou da cerimônia em comemoração às três décadas de existência do instituto, compondo a mesa ao lado da reitora do IFBA Luiza Barros, do diretor geral do campus de Vitória da Conquista, Felizardo Rocha, do reitor da UESB Luís Otávio. Estiveram presentes também vereadores, professores e membros da comunidade acadêmica.
Waldenor Pereira comentou que “os 30 anos do campus é um marco significativo para a educação do nosso município e do Sudoeste baiano. É uma honra ser parceiro do IFBA, contribuindo para o seu fortalecimento, por meio de emendas parlamentares, junto com o deputado José Raimundo Fontes”, disse Waldenor.
