Sem apoio de parlamentares de peso, os dois deputados que o representam em Salvador e Brasília não têm demonstrado prestigio suficientes para abrir portas e destravar investimentos que poderiam, nesse momento em que há um consenso em torno das dificuldades enfrentadas pelos municípios com eventuais reduções nos repasses constitucionais, o prefeito brumadense pode, inclusive, ver investigações que estão se arrastando no Ministério Público Federal e Polícia Federal ganharem celeridade.
No âmbito do município, abandonado pelos vereadores que até aqui emprestavam apoio irrestrito às suas propostas e pretensões e por aliados que já não se dispõem a defende-lo, Eduardo Vasconcelos (Sem Partido) enfrenta agora uma ofensiva da oposição na Câmara Municipal.
