Decisão faz parte do pacote de corte de gastos do governo

O presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva sancionou nesta terça-feira (31) a Lei Complementar 211, que impede a retomada do Seguro Obrigatório para Proteção de Vítimas de Acidentes de Trânsito (SPVAT, o antigo DPVAT). A decisão faz parte do pacote de corte de gastos do governo.

No dia 18 de dezembro, os deputados e o governo já haviam firmado acordo pela revogação da lei que criaria o novo SPVAT. A volta do seguro para 2025 havia sido prevista por uma lei complementar assinada no último mês de maio.
O seguro tinha a finalidade de garantir indenizações por danos pessoais a vítimas de acidente de trânsito e seria obrigatório. Estariam previstas indenização por morte, por invalidez e reembolsos para assistências médicas e também serviços funerários.
Com a revogação da lei, vítimas de acidentes que não tiverem seguro privado não terão direito a indenizações. A cobrança havia sido encerrada por uma medida provisória assinada pelo então presidente Jair Bolsonaro em 2019.
