A relação dos brasileiros com dinheiro foi investigada por um estudo da Nexus – Pesquisa e Inteligência de Dados. Os dados mostram que 63% dos brasileiros das classes A, B e C estão preocupados com dinheiro para o futuro. Do total,48% dos entrevistados apontam que até conseguem pagar as contas, porém os recursos não sobram no final do mês.
Em relação ao gerenciamento do dinheiro, 30% disseram que conseguem gerenciar bem e ainda sobra. Já 11% precisam pedir ajuda ou empréstimos para pagar as contas. Outros 5% deixam uma ou mais contas para o mês seguinte e 6% não quiseram ou não souberam responder.
Pelo estudo, o percentual de brasileiros que pagam as contas, mas não conseguem guardar dinheiro, é maior entre os mais jovens – chega a 55%. Os moradores do Sudeste representam, ainda, 53% desse público e quem estudou até o ensino médio 51%. Entre moradores do Nordeste ou quem estudou até o ensino médio, 7% responderam que precisam deixar as contas para o mês seguinte por falta de recursos para efetuar os pagamentos.
Cartão de Crédito
A pesquisa sobre o endividamento no Brasil aponta que o cartão de crédito é o principal vilão – ocupando o lugar de dívida mais comum para 51% da população. É o caso do profissional de soluções de segurança cibernética, William Freire de Souza, 37 anos, morador de Ceilândia (DF). Na faixa etária dele, 66% dos respondentes têm dívidas nesse formato.
William conta que, há alguns anos, vive num ciclo onde o salário não acompanha o custo de vida com os imprevistos do cotidiano – com gastos com o carro, por exemplo. Ele relata que recorre ao cartão de crédito para complementar, porém vive nessa situação de decadência do cartão há anos.
Segundo William, o salário acaba não suprindo todas as necessidades da sua família – cenário que o leva a aumentar cada dia a dívida com o crédito.
“Você vai comprando coisas parceladas e fica com seu crédito comprometido, com seu salário comprometido e quando percebe, já usa todo o seu salário para pagar fatura e outras despesas fixas e só lhe resta o cartão de crédito para se manter durante o mês e vai acumulando mais e mais dívida cada mês que passa”, diz.
Apesar de definir a sua situação com o cartão de crédito como “uma bola de neve”, William ressalta que tem buscado melhorar a sua questão financeira. “Estou tentando reorganizar minha vida financeira para poder gerenciar esses gastos”, afirma o profissional.
Além do cartão de crédito, outros tipos de dívidas também têm um peso significativo na vida dos entrevistados, conforme a pesquisa, como os empréstimos pessoais (28%) e o financiamento de veículos ou imóveis (17%).
Futuro financeiro
Em relação à parcela da população preocupada com o futuro financeiro, 35% se dizem muito preocupados e apenas 2% afirmaram não ter nenhuma preocupação em relação ao futuro financeiro.
William destaca os impactos que sofre a partir da dependência do cartão de crédito e do acúmulo de dívidas, como a dificuldade de fazer planos para o futuro:
“O impacto que isso tem, ou a consequência, do acúmulo de dívidas de cartão de crédito, é que não sobra dinheiro para planejar o financiamento de um imóvel, troca de um veículo, fazer uma viagem, investir em algum tipo de aperfeiçoamento, porque você está sempre comprometido, nunca tem salário sobrando. Então, fica difícil fazer planos para o futuro.”
O futuro financeiro demonstra ser uma preocupação maior dos jovens entre 16 a 24 anos. Cerca de 84% se disseram preocupados (27%) ou muito preocupados (57%) com dinheiro.
Em relação à renda, os brasileiros das classes A dividem a maior preocupação com o futuro financeiro com quem é da Classe B: 80% dos mais ricos afirmam estar preocupados ou muito preocupados com o futuro financeiro. Entre quem é da classe B, o percentual atinge 79%.
Ligada ao futuro financeiro, a aposentadoria também é uma grande preocupação para 33% dos brasileiros das classes A, B e C. Outros 24% se disseram apenas preocupados, somando 57%.
Recorte regional
Na região Nordeste, 58% dos brasileiros têm dívidas com cartão de crédito. No Sudeste e Sul do país o percentual chegou a 54%. Já Norte e Centro-Oeste registrara, 33% das respostas.
Em relação ao futuro incerto, enquanto o percentual nacional é de 63%, apenas as regiões Sudeste e Sul apresentaram entrevistados preocupados ou muito preocupados acima do percentual nacional – 69% e 68%, respectivamente. Norte e Centro-Oeste somaram 53% e Nordeste 56% dos entrevistados.
Quanto à incerteza futura, 57% demonstram receio ao pensar na aposentadoria. Novamente, apenas as regiões Sudeste e Sul apresentaram entrevistados preocupados ou muito preocupados – sendo 61%. Norte e Centro-Oeste, 41% e Nordeste 57%.
No cenário em que está apertado, considerando que consegue pagar todas as contas, mas não sobra nada – 53% dos entrevistados são do Sudeste e 50% do Sul. O percentual cai para 40% nas regiões Norte e Centro-Oeste e para 43% no Nordeste.
Metodologia
Para realizar o estudo, a Nexus entrevistou 1.010 cidadãos com idade a partir de 16 anos, das classes A, B e C, nas 27 Unidades da Federação (UFs). As entrevistas foram realizadas de forma online entre 08 e 09 de agosto de 2025.
A margem de erro no total da amostra é de 3 p.p, com intervalo de confiança de 95%.
A pesquisa considerou as classes A, B e C, segundo oCritério Brasil, da Associação Brasileira de Empresas de Pesquisas (Abep). De acordo com a instituição, no total, essas classes representam cerca de 120 milhões de brasileiros.

- B1 – R$ 12.683,34
- B2 – R$ 7.017,64
- C1 – R$ 3.980,38
- C2 – R$ 2.403,04
