- evitar trajetos longos;
- em caso de mal-estar, parar o veículo e pedir ajuda;
- programar paradas frequentes para se alongar e se movimentar;
- usar meias de compressão em viagens acima de quatro horas; e
- utilizar equipamentos de segurança.
Nesse último quesito, a médica destaca que é recomendado afastar o banco do volante ao máximo, mas de forma que não prejudique a direção, além de utilizar o cinto de segurança de forma que a faixa subabdominal fique o mais baixo possível e nunca por cima da barriga. Já a faixa diagonal deve ser posicionada passando lateralmente ao útero.
Para puérperas, não há prazo definido para o retorno à condução de veículos. Alguns países, segundo Lilian, orientam aguardar de duas a seis semanas.
