O segundo aviso médico foi que, ao cortar o Cordão Umbilical, Alice sobreviveria apenas alguns minutos. No entanto, ela desafiou a previsão. Apesar de enfrentar uma parada cardíaca no primeiro dia de vida, se recuperou. Hoje, aos sete meses, lida com desafios diários: convulsões, alimentação por sonda e atrasos no desenvolvimento. O tratamento, realizado de forma particular, conta com apoio de doações de todo o país.
A história de Alice ganhou visibilidade através do TikTok, onde Stefanny compartilha o dia a dia da filha e inspira outras mães. Foi por meio da internet que a família conheceu o Neurocirurgião Pediátrico Alexandre Canheu, reconhecido como um dos principais especialistas da área no Brasil. Ele analisou os exames da menina e ofereceu uma nova perspectiva de tratamento.
O que é a Encefalocele?
A Encefalocele é uma malformação rara que ocorre no período embrionário, quando o tubo neural não se fecha corretamente, resultando na projeção de tecido cerebral para fora do crânio. O tratamento é essencialmente cirúrgico e deve ser realizado precocemente para minimizar sequelas e aumentar as chances de reabilitação.
“No caso da Alice, a cirurgia se tornou uma questão de sobrevivência. Não conhecia nenhum caso de uma criança que tivesse chegado a essa idade nas condições dela. Foi muito bem cuidada”, explica Canheu.
Cirurgia delicada
Alice viajou para Londrina (PR) e passou por um procedimento complexo no Hospital Evangélico da cidade. O Neurocirugião removeu mais de 90% da Massa Encefalocele — um tecido cerebral não funcionante — e implantou uma válvula para controlar a Hidrocefalia. Também foi feita uma reconstrução da estrutura craniana e uma plástica na pele.
“Foi uma cirurgia trabalhosa e delicada, pois normalmente esse procedimento é feito logo após o nascimento. Alice foi operada tardiamente, mas está reagindo bem, com bons reflexos. Ainda assim, requer cuidados”, detalha o Neurocirurgião.
A família contou com doações para custear o tratamento e até hospedagem gratuita. Apesar das incertezas, a esperança se mantém. “Disseram que Alice não viria para casa, mas ela veio. Desafiamos os prognósticos. O tempo pode ser curto, mas Deus nos deu muito mais do que esperávamos”, finaliza a mãe.
