Na última semana, depois de conceder entrevista a emissoras de rádio e blogs da região, o prefeito de Igaporã, Newton Francisco – Neto – Neves Cotrim (PT), fez uma pausa em suas atividades no gabinete do paço Municipal para receber o JS.
O prefeito, que tem se esforçado, nos últimos dias, para ouvir pessoalmente as demandas da população e encaminhar as ações e intervenções que se enquadrem na atual realidade financeira do município, principalmente as que atendam a coletividade e a parcela mais vulneração da sociedade, repetiu o que tem sido um mantra dos gestores da maioria dos municípios brasileiros, que a crise econômica tem comprometido não apenas a execução de obras, mas serviços essenciais. “Não fosse as medidas de contingenciamento, a maioria delas incompreendida pela população e pelas lideranças políticas, seja da situação ou da oposição, e estaríamos chegando ao final do ano sem a mínima condição de cumprir com os compromissos com servidores e prestadores de serviços. Felizmente assumimos o ônus das criticas e podemos afirmar, com segurança, mesmo sabendo que a situação continua critica, que vamos fechar o ano com todos os compromissos cumpridos, com o pagamento de todas as obrigações contratadas”, pontuou o prefeito.
O petista fez uma retrospectiva dos 35 meses de Governo, lembrando que ao assumir o mandato, em janeiro de 2021, apesar de não ter encontrado as finanças desorganizadas, teve de enfrentar dificuldades pontuais para começar a governar e implementar as propostas feitas na campanha. Os problemas para gestão do erário começaram, relatou o prefeito, efetivamente, a partir deste ano, quando os impactos de medidas adotadas no último ano de gestão do ex-presidente Jair Bolsonaro (PL), principalmente a diminuição do ICMS sobre combustíveis e energia, por exemplo, afetaram diretamente a entrada de recursos no caixa das Prefeituras. Destacou, ainda, que a natural desconfiança na recuperação da economia no início do novo Governo do presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva – que já dá sinais de arrefecimento – também foram fatores que ajudaram a recrudescer a crise. “Felizmente as expectativas são as melhores possíveis. Os sinais emitidos pelos setores econômico e financeiro sinalizam que vamos começar a recuperação da arrecadação”.
