A Assembleia Legislativa da Bahia tornou pública, por meio de Nota Oficial assinada pela presidente da Casa, Deputada Estadual Ivana Teixeira Bastos (PSD), sua firme posição de repúdio diante da ameaça à soberania brasileira. A manifestação responde ao anúncio feito pelo presidente dos Estados Unidos, Donald Trump, sobre o aumento das tarifas de importação de produtos oriundos do Brasil.
Segundo o comunicado, a medida anunciada pelo presidente norte-americano representa uma tentativa preocupante de interferência nos assuntos internos do país, afetando não apenas a independência dos Poderes, mas também os princípios fundamentais do Direito Internacional. A Assembleia Legislativa baiana aponta que a decisão do presidente Donald Trump, como ele mesmo pontuou, busca penalizar o Brasil pelas investigações em curso no Supremo Tribunal Federal contra o ex-presidente Jair Messias Bolsonaro (PL), além de estar relacionada ao posicionamento brasileiro no cenário eleitoral e à sua aproximação do bloco do Brics.
A Nota reafirma o compromisso do Parlamento baiano com a defesa da democracia, da autonomia dos Poderes e da dignidade nacional frente a ações externas que comprometam esses valores.
Em sua manifestação oficial, a Assembleia Legislativa da Bahia reafirma o compromisso inabalável do Parlamento baiano com a defesa da soberania nacional e da ordem democrática. A Instituição exige respeito à diplomacia brasileira diante dos recentes ataques à integridade das estruturas institucionais do país, condenando enfaticamente qualquer tentativa de interferência externa nos caminhos da economia e na autonomia política e do Judiciário do Brasil.
A Nota ressalta ainda a posição firme da Casa Legislativa, em nome do povo baiano, contra qualquer forma de subjugação ou afronta à independência nacional. E acrescenta que a Bahia, protagonista histórica das lutas que moldaram o Brasil – do Dois de Julho à resistência dos nossos dias – não se calará diante de investidas que ameacem sua dignidade.

“Toda a vez que um governo esmaga um princípio, a troco de um interesse, ou de um desabafo, semeia com isso um gérmen de anarquia, que não tardará em brotar dificuldades, ou crimes contra a ordem política, ou social.”

Há momentos em que o silêncio das instituições pesa mais do que a injustiça cometida. E é nesses instantes que o Parlamento, em nome do povo, não pode calar, deve erguer-se com a firmeza de quem sabe que sua missão é conter, com lucidez e coragem, qualquer avanço contra os princípios da República.
A Nação se viu interpelada por acontecimentos que atingem interesses materiais, valores simbólicos e institucionais. Em tempos assim, quando os fundamentos da soberania nacional são ameaçados, não há espaço para disputas menores. As diferenças ideológicas e partidárias devem ceder lugar à defesa intransigente da Pátria, da legalidade e da dignidade do povo brasileiro.
A Assembleia Legislativa da Bahia, sob o peso de sua história e sob a luz da responsabilidade institucional, vem a público manifestar repúdio à carta enviada pelo ex-presidente dos Estados Unidos, Donald Trump, ao chefe de Estado brasileiro, bem como às ameaças de tarifas sobre produtos nacionais, em flagrante desrespeito às normas internacionais de comércio e à convivência harmônica entre as nações.
Não se negocia com arrogância aquilo que nos pertence por direito: a liberdade de decidir os rumos do próprio destino. Tampouco se aceita, com resignação colonial, a imposição velada de interesses estrangeiros que ferem nossa economia e insultam nossa diplomacia. Como já disse o embaixador Sérgio Vieira de Mello: “A soberania não é um privilégio, é uma responsabilidade.”
É preciso recordar que a política externa brasileira tem raízes centenárias, cultivadas por homens e mulheres de Estado, e não por aventureiros de ocasião. O Barão do Rio Branco, arquétipo da diplomacia nacional, não cedeu um palmo sem razão, nem levantou a voz sem propósito. É com esse espírito que reafirmamos: o Brasil é senhor de si, e a Bahia é sua guardiã vigilante.
As tarifas prometidas contra produtos brasileiros não são simples decisões comerciais; são tentativas de subjugação econômica e simbólica. Afetam diretamente setores estratégicos da economia baiana, ameaçando milhares de empregos, investimentos e o sustento de famílias inteiras. A Bahia não tolera tal violência.
Na condição de Parlamento estadual, mas sobretudo como sentinela da democracia, conclamamos os demais Poderes e instituições do país a se manterem firmes. Não há espaço para servilismo diante da arrogância. Nossa história não admite curvar-se.
Que fique registrado, com tinta firme, nos anais da República: o Brasil não será intimidado. E a, sempre à frente nas lutas que moldaram esta Nação, do Dois de Julho à resistência contemporânea, jamais será omissa diante de qualquer tentativa de ataque à sua dignidade.
