A Empresa Baiana de Águas e Saneamento (Embasa), vinculada à Secretaria de Estado de Infraestrutura Hídrica e Saneamento da Bahia, deu início, há um mês, às obras de implantação de uma nova adutora de 14,2 quilômetros de extensão, que ligará o Sistema Adutor do Algodão, localizado na Comunidade do Pancadão, em Lagoa Real, ao Sistema de Abastecimento de Água (SAA) de Ibiassucê. A iniciativa enfrenta desafios em um terreno semiárido, onde a escassez de água natural dificulta o abastecimento humano na região.
Com investimento de cerca de R$ 2 milhões, financiados com recursos próprios da Empresa, garantirá a ampliação do fornecimento de água na sede municipal e possibilitará a expansão do serviço para as comunidades rurais de Capoeirão, Forno de Telha, Vargem Suja e Lagoa D’Água.
Segundo Leomar Rodrigues Silva, Monitor de Obras e Serviços da Unidade Regional da Embasa em Caetité, a nova adutora permitirá que água captada no Rio São Francisco, tratada em Malhada – a aproximadamente 195 quilômetros do município – chegue até Ibiassucê, cuja disponibilidade de mananciais é insuficiente devido às baixas chuvas na região.
Ainda segundo Leomar Rodrigues, a previsão é que a obra seja concluída e a adutora esteja em operação até setembro de 2026, beneficiando cerca de 10.500 habitantes e ampliando o acesso ao abastecimento público de água tratada.
Atualmente, o Sistema de Abastecimento de Água de Ibiassucê capta água na Barragem de Santo Antônio, no Rio Jacaré, produzindo e distribuindo cerca de 20 litros por segundo (l/s) para aproximadamente 4.307 residências. Durante o período de estiagem, essa vazão sofre redução, resultando em dificuldades de abastecimento em áreas mais isoladas. Com a nova adutora, a oferta de água será ampliada em mais 21,28 l/s, o que praticamente dobrará a quantidade de água distribuída no município, melhorando a regularidade do fornecimento para a população.
