A trajetória do comunicólogo, poeta, professor e escritor Paulo Esdras Oliveira da Silva Júnior, soteropolitano radicado em Brumado, ganhou destaque nesta semana em uma pesquisa acadêmica realizada na Universidade do Estado da Bahia (Uneb), Campus de Brumado. O estudo, que integrou o Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (TCC) da estudante Bianca Carneiro, do curso de Letras, analisa a obra do autor sob uma perspectiva inovadora.
Sob orientação da Professora Gheu Sousa Teixeira, a pesquisa focou na produção poética de Paulo Esdras, explorando elementos da poesia concreta e sua forte ligação com a identidade nordestina. A análise destacou, especialmente, a presença de elementos visuais e referências à cultura sertaneja, presentes em poemas como “Lar”, “Não Pense Demais”, “No Céu do Sertão” e “Mandacaru Verdejante”. A abordagem do estudo evidencia como Paulo Esdras ressignifica a poesia concreta por meio de uma perspectiva decolonial, deslocando o foco criativo para o sertão e suas narrativas de resistência.
O poeta e educador Paulo Esdras reconhecido por sua destacada trajetória nas artes e na Educação em Brumado, Paulo Esdras, membro ativo da Academia de Letras e Artes de Brumado (Alab)me atualmente titular da Diretoria de Cultura da Secretaria Municipal de Cultura, Esporte e Lazer de Brumado, é também respeitado nacionalmente por suas premiações em poesia e crônica, expressou sua emoção e gratidão pela homenagem. “Foi um dia especial. Fiquei muito feliz e grato pela valorização da minha obra”, pontuou.
A pesquisa acadêmica reforça a importância da literatura regional como instrumento de afirmação cultural e crítica estética, além de consolidar Paulo Esdras como uma das vozes mais relevantes da poesia sertaneja baiana.
