O impacto do uso de telas em crianças e adolescentes tem sido um tema cada vez mais presente nas conversas entre pais, professores e profissionais da saúde. Pensando nisso, uma pesquisa desenvolvida na Uesb buscou investigar a relação entre o uso desses equipamentos com o Transtorno do Déficit de Atenção com Hiperatividade (TDAH).
O trabalho, conduzido por Kalil Farias, estudante do curso de Medicina da Universidade, campus de Jequié, teve como objetivo compreender se existe uma relação entre o tempo de exposição a dispositivos eletrônicos, como celulares, tablets e videogames, e o agravamento dos sintomas de TDAH. Como resultado, o estudo mostra que, quanto maior o tempo de tela, maior é a intensidade dos sintomas de desatenção e hiperatividade em crianças e adolescentes.
De acordo com o pesquisador, foi identificado também que crianças e adolescentes já diagnosticados com TDAH apresentam uma predisposição maior ao uso de telas, “causada por fatores neurológicos relacionados ao transtorno ou por fatores externos, como disponibilidade de telas por pais”, explica. Ainda segundo o estudante, a investigação pode “ajudar a compreender como os fatores externos analisados influenciam na manifestação do TDAH, impactando nas recomendações para os pais a respeito da criação dos filhos com esse transtorno”, completa.
Sobre o trabalho – Com o aumento recente no número de diagnósticos do TDAH, muitas hipóteses têm sido levantadas a respeito das possíveis causas. Diante disso, o estudo realizou uma revisão de literatura integrativa, a fim de investigar a hipótese de que o tempo de exposição às telas pode estar relacionado a esse tipo de transtorno.
A análise foi realizada em 26 artigos científicos publicados entre os anos de 2020 e 2024. As publicações foram extraídas das bibliotecas virtuais de PubMed e BVS. O estudo reforça a importância de oferecer orientações claras para os pais ou responsáveis, contribuindo para a elaboração de estratégias mais eficazes no acompanhamento, tratamento e criação de crianças e adolescentes com TDAH.
