Puxada pelo bom desempenho da safra de milho e pelas exportações de petróleo, a balança comercial inicia 2023 com o maior superávit para os meses de janeiro, em 17 anos. O país exportou US$ 2,716 bilhões a mais do que importou no mês passado. Segundo o Ministério do Desenvolvimento, Indústria, Comércio e Serviços (MDIC), em janeiro as exportações somaram US$ 23,13 bilhões e as importações somaram US$ 20,42 bilhões, o melhor resultado para o mês desde 2006.
Para o economista especialista em comércio exterior, Pedro Garrido, um dos motivos do aumento das exportações do petróleo é a própria política de preços. “É muito em função da própria política de preços e da atuação da Petrobrás no mercado de derivados, aumentando a importação de derivados e por outro lado, reduzindo a utilização interna do petróleo aqui com a intenção de exportar mais o petróleo bruto”, explica.
Já as exportações do grão de milho, em parte, foram causadas pela elevação dos preços no mercado internacional. “Essa elevação de preços no mercado internacional é causada em grande medida pelo conflito na Ucrânia que atinge países que são grandes exportadores de cereais. Essa elevação do valor acaba influenciando positivamente as exportações brasileiras que buscam ofertar no mercado com preços maiores”, ressalta.
De acordo com o governo, as exportações, pela média diária, registraram alta de 11,7% em janeiro na comparação com o mesmo período do ano passado, para US$ 1,05 bilhão (novo recorde histórico).
Já as compras do exterior recuaram 1,7% nesta comparação, para US$ 928 milhões. Nas importações, a quantidade comprada caiu 1,6%, refletindo a desaceleração da economia, mas os preços médios aumentaram 5% devido ao petróleo e medicamentos.
Segundo Garrido, existe uma tendência que traz uma regressão produtiva nas exportações brasileiras e que gera preocupações para o desenvolvimento produtivo no país.
“Os produtos industrializados nos quais se encontram, por exemplo, carnes, que não têm um nível de elaboração grande, mas ainda assim se nota uma redução dos produtos industrializados na pauta brasileira, isso pode indicar uma maior desindustrialização no Brasil, no longo prazo, o que implica em uma possível redução de renda e uma possível redução do nível tecnológico na economia brasileira”, explica.
