Policiais federais cumpriram na manhã de hoje (9) 11 mandados de busca e apreensão para desarticular um esquema de falsificação de diplomas do curso de medicina. Na ação, realizada nas cidades do Rio de Janeiro, de Belford Roxo e Teresópolis, no estado do Rio, além de Montes Claros, em Minas Gerais, foram apreendidos aparelhos celulares, jalecos, carimbos, documentos de identificação e documentos com indícios de falsificação.
Cerca de 60 policiais participaram da Operação Catarse, iniciada depois de denúncia feita pelo Conselho Regional de Medicina do Rio de Janeiro (Cremerj). Segundo informações repassadas pelo representante da classe médica à Polícia Federal (PF), foram constatados requerimentos de registro profissional a partir de documentos falsificados de graduação em medicina.
Em abril de 2022, duas pessoas já tinham sido presas na sede do próprio Cremerj, quando tentavam obter os registros. As investigações chegaram a outros suspeitos e a empresas envolvidas, entre elas duas clínicas médicas.
Os crimes investigados são de falsificação de documento público e uso de documento falso.
